Great!
You have created your character and claimed your starter Pokemon!
Now what?
You have created your character and claimed your starter Pokemon!
Now what?
Now you can start your journey in any town or city you like, that is West of Mauville City, of course. You can start from any of the cities and towns right after the colon:
Littleroot Town,
Oldale Town,
Petalburg City,
Rustboro City,
Dewford Island,
Fallarbor Town,
Verdanturf Town,
Slateport City,
Lavaridge Town, OR
Mauville City.
Not everyone have to start in Professor Birch's lab! But when you claim your starter and register as a trainer in the town or city's Pokemon Center, Nurse Joy will let Professor Birch, if he's in the office, or his aide know that you have claimed your starter and you're beginning your adventure. Don't forget to tell whoever you're staying with that you'll be going in your journey! To travel between towns, you would probably be on foot. Read below for the basics of traveling, encounters.
Newbie Protection: Before you capture your fourth Pokemon or defeat your first gym, all Pokemon fainted could be available to capture. Once the RPer obtains the fourth Pokemon or defeated first gym, whether it's from capture or trade, etc., the new player protection would be lifted, and therefore fainted Pokemon cannot be captured.
Traveling:
- In order to progress from one route to another route, or to a city, you need to have a minimal of one Wild Pokemon battle or trainer battle in each route.
- All Pokemon are healed automatically at the end of each battles, exception include quests and gym battles.
- The Bike Shop in Mauville City is temporarily unavailable.
- In caves/towers, you must travel from one floor to another, by encountering at least one Pokemon to continue.
- if you're using RP Encounter Items. you're allowed to put in OOC if you want to opt out hidden ability or egg move and mention which Pokemon you're after.
- Once you defeat Winona and obtain HM Fly (Alignment quest #11), you can go to any city you visited without battling wild Pokemon, provided you have a Pokemon taught with HM Fly somewhere in your character's party or box.
General Pokemon Encounters:
- At the moment, legendaries are unavailable for capture, but they would be used for quests, stay tune!
- You will encounter all Pokemon in the area if you stay long enough. Pokemon are randomized until every one in the route is encountered at least once. If the RPer is surfing or fishing, same rule apply
- Pokemon labeled Rare have 10% chance (1/10) to appear for each encounter.
- RPer can request non-rare Pokemon after encountering all the Pokemon in the area once!
- RPer can request a rare Pokemon after encountering all Pokemon twice!
- Encountered Pokemon have 1/16 (6.25%) chance to be shiny! After seeing all Pokemon twice, the chance will become 1/8 (12.5%)!
- Encountered Pokemon will have 25% chance to be with Hidden Ability on first encounter. After seeing all Pokemon in the same area once, it will become 1/2 (50%).
- Encountered Pokemon will have 25% chance to have an Egg Move. After seeing all Pokemon in the same area once, it will become 1/2 (50%).
Fishing and Surfing:
- Some surfing Pokemon have minimum levels that they would be encountered.
- Fishing, in general, are level scaled, but some evolved Pokemon would have minimum level that they would be encountered
- In order to access surfing, the fifth badge must be earned, and completed the quest giving HM Surf.
- One must have a a Pokemon with Surf in party or box to use Surf. (Also HM Dive.)
- In order to start fishing, the quests (#2, #11) for each Rod items must be completed and obtained before fishing can be used.
Trainer Battles:
- Trainer encounters can be fought upon request or moderator's discretion. If you're staying in a route long enough, you will encounter one, but there will also be no consecutive trainer battle. If you're changing route frequently, you would encounter one.
- Some trainers are mandatory double battle, because it's Hoenn. You may also request to battle two trainers at the same time if they have the same number of Pokemon in their party, and about the same level.
- If you and another member want to have a Tag Battle with 2 NPC trainers, you may also do that. The Pokemon of opponents must be similar levels.
- Trainers listed in city guides are listed from where they would be found in games. The RPer or the moderator may choose a trainer from a different route if the levels are about the same.
Miscellaneous:
- There will never be horde battle or triple battle here. Wild Pokemon Double battles maybe, and it's also part of Hoenn Region.
- Once you caught your 9th Pokemon, you can now have 2 teams. One will be your Alpha Team, where your main RP, gym battles, trainer battles, and quests take place. The second team will be your non-RP team, where writing is optional for moderator, but you will can still train your Pokemon or try to capture a rare or shiny or hidden ability or egg move Pokemon.
