Dagrun was alone as volunteering this day and she seriously wondered if she should quit too, if no-one others who actually would get the benefit from the hard work, were willing to lift a finger for it. Her pokemon seemed to enjoy it a lot more than she had expected and both Takara and Natsumi began digging around the tree roots to free it, and with a sigh Dagrun began to work as well. She was surprised by their eagerness and hoped it meant that they did it to make her happy. Whatever the reason they were so motivation, they managed to get the whole stump out of the ground before the days end, and Dagrun bought them some pokemon ice cream to show her appreciation.

Volunteering 79: Clean Up (Rustboro) Mirella was on her by-weekly clean up around town, and ventured down the main street for a change instead of taking the route out by the lake. The old avenue was apparently getting a renovation in the tree department, and someone was in the process of digging out one of the dead old tree stumps. Mirella watched the works out the corner of her eye, while she passed by collecting the trash people inevitable had thrown on the ground. Aleksi was a little too curious and ran up to the edge of the hole, and Mirella hurriedly called her back with a whistle. It wouldn't do to have the Pooch starting up a Sand Attack near the hard workers. "Looking good." she called to them. "I'll be back next week to see if I can give a hand." she promised. She only knew it was part of the volunteer work as she had glimpsed a note for it on the volunteer board. There was always a lot of different things to pick from, and Mirella wasn't picky, but she had no idea this part of the street had been so overlooked. (Wordcount: 191)

The weather today was dull, grey and with the promise of rain in the air. Dagrun was in a great mood though, as a few others had arrived to help today, and they had brought pokemon who could actually do something with the old tree stumps. When the aggron and abomasnow had pulled the roots up there was only filling the holes with fresh new soil left, and it was easily done with the help of Dagrun's pokemon. They would finish quickly and new things could be plantet so it would be pretty to look at it again.

It was a rainfull day and once again there weren't many who had appeared to help with the day's task. There were no more treetrunks that needed to be pulled up, so it was alright, now it was time to plant the new trees, whenever they arrived. They were late compared to what Dagrun had been told, and she spent most of the time waiting and chatting with the other one, who had appeared to help. At some point she went and bought them some cacao to keep warm. Finally late afternoon the new, small trees arrived, they were several hours late, but now Dagrun could start to plant them. It was dirty work, especially since it was raining and the soil were muddy.

The planting had been done but there were still a lot of things to be done. Dagrun didn't know that much about planing trees, but another one told her, that they needed to make something to support the little trees so they didn't break when facing a strong gust. With pokemon around that happened frequently so they would need all the help they could get. It wasn't much her pokemon could help with that, but Dagrun learned from others how to make the triangular support and stomp it into the ground around the trees. She wasn't sure if there could be done something else to secure the trees, Dagrun would hate if all the hard work would end up being wasted.

It was nice doing the cleaning up after all the planting, as the people passing thanked her a lot for her hard work. Most only could recognize her due to Baldrian and his shininess, but it was nice to get some appreciation anyway. The job that was left was rather easy, just cleaning up, removing what was left of materials and sweeping the worst soil away from the tiles. As the sun set, the ones who had asked for her help came with little thank you gift and Dagrun pushed it away like it was nothing. She looked at the colorful clouds and wondered where to go next.
