After capturing the second bug, Mirella was hopeful for encountering something related to element water, since she can't really explore the lake in the safari right now. She had been quiet and picked up the captured Shelmet, much to Caddis's annoyance. Then, she figured that she could use the repellent thing in her bag to dissuade some of the bugs from bothering her again. As she was walking, maybe the super repel was working, because there nothing seemed to happen for a while. Then, a lone Goomy was standing on a semi-solid patch of growing reeds and mud, chewing off fallen berries next to a tree. It looked quite wet and a bit slimy, but are they actually water type Pokemon? Maybe, they just have an affinity for wet environment, seeing as they live in marsh.
A (level 11) Goomy appeared! Super Repel deducted You got Goomy on third roll. (1 original + 2 extra from super repel) OOC: I haven't thought about that if you get to choose which common to follow. Guess I can do that next time if someone actually did failed lol.

Day three: On Safari (Lilycove) Mirella relaxed into the walk, when she wasn't disturbed for the next while. It made her think the repel was doing its work properly. She studied the plant life around her, deciding it wasn't so strange if the bugs loved it here. The humid air and swamp like ground made the perfect conditions for those kind of creatures. Along with frogs, toads, and fresh water fish conditioned for the sour environment. She would have been happy seeing them all, but the set limit was counting down, and now she could only hope the last Pokemon would fit her team better than the 2 bugs. She wanted something for herself too from this. It was after all a day spent for treating herself to something new. When the grey slug appeared out on a patch of solid something a little ways off the path, she squinted at it curiosity peaked. It didn't exactly look appealing, not even to her that was used to pour her love on the more slimy beings. It wasn't a bug at least, she told herself, and let Whiskas out in the marsh. The wet ground would hopefully provide him with enough water, so he could travel the short distance out to the thing. "Try luring it closer, Whiskas," she told him. "I want to see how it performs on non-solid ground." If it did well, she had no doubt she would be able to keep the slug properly moistered. There was no way she was running out of water Pokemon anytime soon. Whiskas didn't respond with any sound. Instead he slipped into the mud and worked his way to the Goomy. He splashed on the surface a bit, testing how it was to get around in. Then he whistled at the Goomy to draw attention, and prepared to avoid any aggressive maneuver, feeling an instinctive need to be on his fins. He worked the mud around him. If the whistle wasn't enough he could always throw mud in its face. (Ooc: Whiskas uses Mud-slap times 2. He has Anticipation. Wordcount: 333)

Wiggling and swimming closer, the Barboach worked hard to get close to the opponent and get its attention. The area was muddy enough for Whiskas to navigate. Once the Goomy's attention was caught, Whiskas prepared to fling some mud at it, reducing the opponent's vision. Maybe it worked, because the Goomy was coming at him, although it was a bit slower than his swimming and splashing. It was a strange globular Pokemon as it moved, but much more solid than a Grimer but not solid enough to be other more-solid Pokemon. Did we mention it's slimy? Then, Whiskas flung another mud at the Goomy who missed him by several inches. The little dragon type turned around and cried, and then unleashed an Absorb attack, making Whiskas really feel the pain of his life being drained. The Goomy was also miraculously aiming in the right direction, despite Whiskas being on his guard and Goomy having its eyes' visions covered in mud. Maybe this was how these Goomy survive in this area, by draining water perhaps.

Day three: On Safari (Lilycove) The absorb attack startled Mirella. If she had known the slug had such an attack, she would have never risked Whiskas. Of course there was nothing for it now, and at least Whiskas seemed to manage somehow. Maybe he was getting stronger. Maybe she should give him tougher challenges from time to time, but right now she believed he had done plenty. He had managed to blind the slug a little. It was time to pull in someone with a little better defence against the grass type attack. She chose Fly. Though unsure if she would be able to travel as effortlessly as usual on the weird muddy marsh ground, she was fast no matter what. "Retreat, Whiskas. You did well. Fly, some Quick Attacks please."She considered it a positive too, that the slug had absorb and didn't seem faced by the mud-slaps. Though it didn't look it, it could be some sort of grass type, and it could be a surprise on her water team if nothing else. She didn't dare test her theory by using a water attack though, so stuck with the normal types she was mostly sure would do ordinary damage. Whiskas withdrew as soon Mirella asked him to. He wasn't a stranger to grass type attacks, and it hurt even though he had been prepared. He figured himself lucky, he had managed to stay clear the first time around. Fly didn't have the same inhibitions. She only had to deal with a surface much less smooth than a lake, and had figure out how to navigate the new 'waves' of the area. Time was against her, and she began working her feet quickly as soon as she started to grasp how to go about it. (Ooc: Fly changes in, and uses Quick Attack times 2. Wordcount: 291)

Fly popped out of the Pokeball and landed on the ground, taking a few seconds to get used to the ground underneath her feet. The Goomy blew some bubble her way, but due to the muddied eyelids from the Mud-Slap earlier, Fly could easily dodge them because they were aimed poorly. Then, she charged forward with a Quick Attack, and the purple-grey Pokemon summoned a strange force field. It glowed for a little and completely prevented Fly from going beyond it. Stumbled by the strange energy energy field, Fly took a deep breath and then skidded on the mud again, and this time hit the Goomy from the side successfully. The dragon type tried to tackle the smacking bug in return, but due to its eyesight and body shape, it struggled and ended up balancing itself on the mud from falling face flat on the ground.

Day three: On Safari (Lilycove) Mirella's eyes widened when the next attack was a stream of Bubbles. Absorb and Bubble both provided the strange Pokemon a great variety to its offense, or defense. It of course made it more difficult for Mirella to decide what type she was up against, but it didn't derail her decision to try and capture it. The wall that prevented Fly's attack from hitting next, didn't immediately ring any bells for Mirella, though she thought she should know it from somewhere. It was obviously a very effective defense, as the slug seemed to have escaped completely scot free. She hoped it wouldn't stretch the battle too long. "Try that again, Fly. Quick Attack."Fly giggled as she almost effortlessly avoided the Goomy's attacks. She wanted to mimic the bubbles. It was very tempting, but Mirella wished for something else, and Fly didn't think to disobey. It wasn't in her, and it seemed legit to go with the fast moving, and physical attack, though the direct contact had been very slimy. She could always play with bubbles again later, and would probably need it with how it felt moving around in this place and making contact with the Goomy. (Ooc: Fly uses Quick Attack times 2. Wordcount: 198 Since Whiskas is gone from the field, I believe Goomy's acc. is back to the 60% instead of the 45% from the addition of anticipation.)

Using speed to her advantage, the Surskiy skidded forward and slammed the half-squishy Goomy again. The slimy Pokemon turned around, and just casually used an Absorb attack. Fly could felt some of her energy being drained, but it was like getting a paper cut, slightly painful, but not significant. Fly went forward again from another angle, but this time the Goomy summoned the invisible barrier again, completely blocking the Surskit, and without turning its body to even check where Fly was. Maybe because the mud was bothering its eyes, and now the Goomy was stepping up its defensive game. Perhaps with all these defensive ability, Goomy could be helpful in Mirella's team.

Day three: On Safari (Lilycove) Both Absorb and that protective barrier was drawing out the fight, but they didn't have much else choice. The slug creature looked entirely too energetic for Mirella to dare use a Pokeball just yet, and she worried her lip at the feeling of being in deep water. "Keep it coming, Fly. The Quick Attack is our best bet for now." she encouraged, and finally remembered her Pokedex. She should probably have used that from the start, but better late than never. She looked up the slug thing, and was finally provided with a name for the creature, a Goomy. Mirella raised an eyebrow. "Goomy?" she looked at the slug, and back at the provided info, which wasn't actually much. "The picture makes it look like some sort of purple gummibear." she mumbled to herself, and then snorted at the mental image. "Alright, but it's still a kind of slug that keeps around damp areas to stay moist. Bubble will most likely only invigorate it, so keep hitting it with Quick Attacks." She raised her voice halfway through the last sentence, to make Fly know, it was meant to her. At least her team of water types would provide a suitable wet environment for it, when she took it out of here. That was one less worry off her list. Fly was starting to feel iffy having to keep touching the Goomy. The slime stuck to her, and made her want to take a dive in pure salt water, just to get rid of it again. She was starting to doubt, if she would be able to clean herself up with just bubbles afterwards, though she hoped it. Fly grimaced when Mirella asked for her continued physical attacks, but she gathered herself and went along. (Ooc: Fly uses Quick Attack times 3. Wordcount: 295)

Disliking the sticky and gooey skin the Goomy naturally have as skin, and a defense method, Fly reluctantly kept on going with Quick Attack, gliding and skipping gracefully as she hit the weird Pokemon in different angles. The first time, it looked like the dragon type was trying to wobble its body to retaliate with a tackle when the Surskit was close, but it missed. The foe missed and splat on the mud again. Now it was both muddy and gooey. After the second quick attack, the Goomy seemed to aimlessly blew some bubbles, and Fly had the mishap of flying into them, but thanks to her affinity to water, this was no big deal. After all, she was born in a lake! A small little lake in the wilderness next to Petalburg City, but it was still a lake. Then, when she thought she would hit the Goomy again, it put up a protective barrier again and she bounced off an invisible wall. It was like wild Pokemon just randomly fluctuate between defensive and offensive approach, where a trained Pokemon will be trained to their full potential. Perhaps, Mirella saw some potential in this little Goomy.

Day three: On Safari (Lilycove) It was really taking a long time, when Fly's attacks were shrugged off as nothing sometimes, and though Fly herself didn't look particular hurt by the Goomy's retaliation, she was starting to look winded. Mirella thought and reached for a reserve. "One more Quick Attack, Fly, then you can have a break." As Fly retreated from her attack, Mirella let Lily out in front. Her options were limited. Apart from Fly, only the Lotad and her new Poochyena wouldn't be hurt too bad by the absorb attack, which worried her the most. She wasn't sure yet how strong the Poochyena was, so she hoped Lily was up for this. "Ready, Lily?" she asked and received a slight nod, Lily's head leaf tilting up and down. Fly hid behind Mirella, when it was over, and watched as Lily waddled out into the mud. Lily wasn't graceful like Fly herself, but the Lotad moved steady and sure on her small feet, moving her head from side to side like she was looking around. In reality Lily was doing her best to form a picture of the surroundings and get a grasp of what the blurred contours and colours was. (Ooc: Fly uses Quick Attack, Lily changes in. Wordcount: 197)

Monitoring her Pokemon's condition, Mirella concluded that her bug Pokemon looked a bit tired from the duration of battle. Under the direction of her trainer, Fly darted forward once more for a buggy Quick Attack, nudging the Goomy a bit as she wore down the opponent some more. The Goomy was starting to look a bit exhausted and worn out as well, but that didn't stop it from seizing this opportunity to land a tackle for an appropriate amount of retaliation. Its vision might be impaired from the mud a bit, but that doesn't mean its luck was doom to land a hit. Then, taking place of Fly was a Lotad named Lily. The Pokemon was just about short and small like Fly more or less, but its multiple feet don't seem to be as nimble as her. Observing the surrounding, the Goomy noticed a new foe and tried to use Absorb on it, but those glowing absorb didn't reach far enough.

Day three: On Safari (Lilycove) The battle continued without a hitch. When Mirella was sure Lily had her bearings, and surprisingly avoided the Goomy's attack, she decided the slug could stand one more attack if delivered carefully. "Try with a few Bubbles, Lily. It must be tired by now." While Lily did that, Mirella fished out a couple of empty Pokeballs. She couldn't do much more. It was time to try if she could get the Goomy in a ball. "You'll have to stand a few retaliation attacks, if this doesn't work, Lily, so prepare yourself for a bit of roughhousing." she warned the Lotad, throwing the first Pokeball. Her heart was beating fast. Though she hadn't experienced it before, she well knew a Pokemon could break the Pokeball trying to capture it. Their will had a lot to do with it, she thought, and she wasn't sure how willing the Goomy was to be captured. She held the second ball ready, if the Goomy popped out. If it turned out a battle of wills, Mirella would make the effort to put her own will forth. Lily finally felt she had an idea of what was where around her, and on Mirella's words she blew some bubbles after the figure moving close by. When no more attacks were asked for next she used a moment to figure out, what Mirella intended to do, and realised what when she saw something red and white in Mirella's hand. She steeled herself in anticipation. (Ooc: Lily uses Bubble, Mirella throws 2 Pokeballs, if the first fails. Wordcount: 246)

As Lily fired a small stream of bubbles, the Goomy with muddy vision summoned another invisible barrier again, making all the bubbles that contacted the force field popped mid-air. Well, that was a good try for Lily. Figuring that the Goomy would be quite a hardy and resilient Pokemon for capture, Mirella had a couple of Pokeballs on hand ready to go. Tossing the first ball forward, the Goomy was warped inside the sphere and shook for a mere two seconds before popping out. Then, the shook Goomy blasted some bubbles in random direction in retaliation of the surprise capture, thankfully Lily wasn't even in the direction of the bubble. As the second ball went forward, the Goomy didn't take long to pop out again, destroying the second ball in the process. The Goomy spewed some bubbles again, but they were just aimed a bit too high that Lilly could see them floating right above her, and missing her completely.

Day three: On Safari (Lilycove) It was certainly a stubborn one, avoiding Lily's Bubble and refusing capture afterwards. Mirella bit her teeth together, and dug for another set of Pokeballs. She didn't usually carry many of them and didn't know how many extras she had anymore. She hoped she had enough. First things first though "Try keeping it distracted with another Bubble, Lily. I need to find some more balls for this apparently." She registreret the sight of bubbles out the corner of her eye, and finally her fingers touched, what she was looking for. "Got it! Ready, Lily, here comes another one." She pulled her arm back, held her eyes on the target and threw. Lily blinked rapidly, when bubbles burst out in the air not from herself. She had been prepared for getting hit, and now she wasn't she wondered if her opponent was as near sighted as herself. That could actually be fun, sharing her current weakness with someone. The second sprout of bubbles almost made her sure she assumed correctly, and with a bit more eagerness, she tried to show it how bubbles were actually done. Her world was blurred alright, but it wasn't so bad, that she couldn't hit her target in any normal situation. Maybe the other was more inexperienced with bad sight and didn't know what to look for. She could maybe even teach it. (Ooc: Repeat - Lily uses Bubble, Mirella throws 2 Pokeballs, if the first fails. Wordcount: 227)

Blowing another stream of bubble again, the lilypad Pokemon was wondering if the opponent needed help on how to blow bubble with hindered eyesight. The Goomy impulsively used Protect again, creating a barrier that instantly pops the bubble before they reached the dragon type. Well, that certainly was a helpful move to prevent taking any damage. As Mirella tossed Pokeball again, the third one popped without much of a wobbling, and the Goomy responded with a mis-aimed Bubble attack flying in the wrong direction. Then, when the fourth ball came, the Goomy was encapsulated shut after some struggling. The ball rolled on the muddy ground with a loud Ding! signalling its successful capture. Maybe the Pokemon was getting tired of these mud sticking to its eyes anyways.
