Species: Torchic Name: Seraph Gender: Male Level: 5 OT: Noelle Ability: Blaze Happiness: 70 Hold Item: None Moves: Scratch, Growl, Ember Meeting: Starter Nature/Characteristics: Seraph is naturally distrustful of humankind, having been bred in a heartless lab environment far away from Birch's lab in Littleroot. Seraph is quiet, skittish, but will erupt in a bed of flames when endangered. This doesn't mean Seraph is dangerous or careless, for the most part he's quiet and keeps to himself, making as little interaction with others as possible. ~~~ "This... can't be the right direction..." Noelle scratched her head, walking slowly across the grassy outskirts of Slateport City, headed to Route 110. "Did... Did I just leave the city...?"
Dragging her feet across the grass, Noelle perked up as soon as she heard a strange noise, a sharp, loud and insistent peep. In the distance, a lone Torchic slowly made its way towards Noelle's general direction. Not one to leave an injured Pokemon to fend for itself, Noelle ran toward the Torchic, although this just startled the Torchic more. Mustering up the last of his strength, the Torchic breathed out a small ember at the girl.
"Oww! Oww! Stop that!" Noelle brushed off the little flame on the tip of her skirt. Sighing, she picked up the weakened Torchic, who was still struggling. Pecking Noelle weakly in the cheek, the girl flinched but still held the Torchic to her chest.
"Oww." Noelle simply smiled warmly as the Torchic continued to struggle but eventually settled himself in her arms. To the poor, traumatized Pokemon, this was a warm, comforting feeling of safety he needed, turning his panicked peeps into a soft trill. Now asleep on the aspiring trainer's arms, the two made their way back to town.
"What's this...?" Noelle took a good look at the Torchic's ear, tagged with a small, diamond shaped label. "TC-31688... do not... remove... Oh... Oh my. Do not remove from lab..."
Noelle winced. There certainly wasn't any lab nearby. "I really hope the people at the Pokemon Center can help me out."
Noelle moved in the opposite direction, heading back to Slateport City.

A faint sound of footsteps could be heard echoing through the quiet hallways of Professor Rowan's Pokemon Lab. Today, a new graduate from the Pokemon Trainer School by the name of Merit Hayes would be given her first Pokemon and an opportunity to start her own adventure that would not involve her being confine in a school setting with limited opportunities to travel into the wild. Merit still found it hard to believe that she would finally be able to start her own journey of becoming a skillful trainer. The golden blonde female was grinning from ear to ear she continued to make her way towards the exit of the building with the thought of her new adventure racing through her mind. After stepping outside of the Pokemon Lab, Merit wrapped her dainty fingers around the red and white sphere resting in her hand. She gently clicked the small button located in the center of the orb and released her first starter Pokemon. Merit had decided to choose Torchic as her new companion. The small fire-chick Pokemon was rather cute and had great potential to evolve into a strong, yet graceful Blaziken in the future. The Torchic quickly emerged from brilliant flash of light immediately glanced up at her new trainer with her beady eyes. The Torchic let out a small chirp as she carefully sprinted towards Merit. "It's good to see you again, too." Merit giggled, kneeling down a bit and gently picking up her Torchic and placing her into her arms. Professor Rowan had already introduced the two of them to each other. There seem to have been a natural bond created between the two of them right away, which was another reason why Merit had decided to choose Torchic. "Well, little one. Today is the day that we will set out on our journey to become the best that we can be. I could not have better partner Pokemon than you. Together, we will be able to overcome an odds weighing against us." Merit smiled, glancing down at the Torchic. "I guess before we get started I should give you a name, huh?" She chuckled, glancing down at her Torchic again. The Torchic nodded her head and chirped. "How about Apolline? It's fiery and elegant." Merit stated, still smiling at her Torchic. The small fire-chick let out a happy chirp as she nodded her head in agreement. "Awesome. Apolline it is. Now, let's get going on our new adventure." She added as she started walking towards the next town. Species: Torchic Name: Apolline Gender: Female Level: 5 OT: Merit Hayes Ability: Blaze Happiness: 50 Hold Item: None Moves: Scratch, Growl, Ember Meeting: Starter Nature/Characteristics: Adamant. Similar to her trainer, Apolline is known to be fiery, confident, and headstrong. She is a sociable and friendly Pokemon for the most part, but also knows how to keep her distance away from those, who she feel like she cannot trust too easily. She enjoys basking in the sun and engaging in Pokemon battles that will make her stronger. She likes to use raw power and graceful movements during battles. She is quite protective over her trainer and friends.
