A bit confused after the trainer battle, Noelle didn't realize that she could win prize money from winning a trainer battle. For Pokemon trainers participating in battles, they could win themselves money for winning against the opponent. The tradition had been established long time ago and no one bothered to know why, but hey, it made battling trained and raised Pokemon more fun! As she was continuing in the route, she found herself being followed by a Wingull. Maybe it was a stalker, or it thought Noelle had food on her, or it wanted to battle her but didn't know how to start a fight, or it thought she was interesting. Though this Wingull was a little persistent to follow a human when there were others in the cycling road. Not to mention, humans walk much slower than a Wingull can glide in the air. What's it's deal!? Maybe a battle could get the Wingull to stop following her.

Noelle continued to walk around, completely oblivious to the Wingull essentially stalking her. It took her a few minutes to realize that the persistent Wingull was after her, for reasons completely unbeknownst to her.
"H-Hello there..." Noelle said, stopping on her tracks, her eyes darting as they followed the Wingull. Unlike the rest of the other Pokemon following her, this one seemed more vexatious, as if it was trying to provoke Noelle. It flew in a bit of an erratic pattern, but Noelle couldn't remember from her book if it was trying to catch her attention because it was trying to befriend her, or if she was encroaching on the Pokemon's territory.
Noelle's hand rested on her belt. She was prepared to take out a Pokemon to defend herself just in case. Sure, she didn't have the army of supernatural monsters her brother advertised, but her ever-growing team kept her flush with confidence.
"Go! Seraph!" Noelle cried out, tossing out one of her four balls. Instead of her starter Torchic, however, she was greeted by her latest catch, Ampere, who seemed to be in the middle of a nap.
Well, there was still that. Confidence or not, Noelle was not immune to her rookie mistakes.
"Fine..." Noelle snorted. "Go! Amp!"
Ampere let out a loud yawn and stood up straight. I guess it was finally time to fight, or something.
Noelle, as usual, found herself in the situation where she had to declare an attack, and of course, had no idea which ones she was eligible to use. As usual, she was going to list off random attacks she remembered from her book, until she got a response.
"Okay, Amp. Use Thunderwave!" Noelle cried out, pleasantly surprised to Ampere responding positively. It felt good to get it right on the first try.
Blue sparks surrounded Ampere's body, as he let out a loud cry, as it released thin bolts of electricity at the Wingull.

Taking up the stalker Wingull's antic to a fight, Noelle sent out her Pokemon to the fray. Perhaps it was good luck, but it might have been a good thing an electric Pokemon came out of the ball instead of her fire type. The electric mouse was sleepy, but then it let out a loud yawn and finally got up to fight the water bird. Hearing Noelle's first command, the electric type responded positively, as sparks gathered at his cheeks, and then he sent them toward the bird, shocking every nerves of that bird and numbing it. However, the stubborn bird managed to let out a loud cawing growl, letting out a pitch that would make Ampere's physical attacks soften a bit.

Ampere let out a small squeak as it tried to cover its large ears from the sharp noise, shutting his eyes tightly. It didn't do much good, however, as Ampere found himself disoriented as soon as he opened his eyes once more. Shaking his head back to composure, Ampere turned back to Noelle, waiting for a command.
"Umm... are you okay?" Noelle inquired, as Ampere let out a confident squeak. Maybe his attacks might not hit as hard as usual, but that wouldn't discourage him. Noelle bit her thumbnail inquisitively, thinking of electric moves she read about. "Okay... let's see... try Nuzzle!"
Ampere held his breath as he rubbed his cheeks frenetically, emanating bigger and bigger sparks with each rub. Letting out a loud, angry squeal, the small mouse leaped as high as its little body would allow him, effectively attaching himself to the Wingull, bringing it down with his weight. Smiling mischievously at the Wingull who was struggling to stay afloat, Ampere dug his electrified cheeks onto the Wingull, encompassing the two in a bright, yellow light.
"Oooh..." Noelle stared at the display in awe, a twisted smile filled her face, not unlike when she would set things on fire with her lighter. Maybe she could learn to love the power of electricity just as much.
"Okay. Let's try this one more time..." Noelle's voice heightened in timbre just a bit, as she cried out her next command. "Nuzzle!!"

Rubbing his cyan cheeks, the energetic little mouse charged forward, readying himself to rub his cheek on the Wingull. The flying bird was paralyzed from the attack earlier, and it was numb from moving as it watched the blue eared mouse coming forward. The bird struggled and tried to move, but its body just won't listen! Soon, Ampere came forward and rubbed his furry little cheek on the Wingull's face. It was kinda cute and gross at the same time. The Wingull's eyes widen in terror as the rubbing discharged electricity, hurting the poor avian. Just when it thought the Minun was done, the mouse went to the other Wingull's cheek and rubbed it with his other cheek. The Wingull was so dead.

Noelle's eyes widened. As pretty as the electric display, a feeling of guilt encompassed the girl. She gulped slowly, her spit traveling down her throat as slowly as possible. Noelle approached the Wingull, as Ampere flexed his tiny arms victoriously.
Her lip quivered as she prodded the Wingull with her foot, her eyes widening even more as the Wingull refused to budge.
Ampere tilted his head and squeaked inquisitively at his trainer. Didn't he do a good enough job?
Sighing, Noelle simply recalled Ampere back to his ball. Usually, she'd congratulate him for doing a good job, and to be fair, he did technically do an excellent job, but now she had more to think about. Slowly, she continued forward, pulling out her Pokegear. She blushed a little bit, embarrassed. She literally just had a talk about moral ambiguities with her brother earlier. She dialed her brother and held her breath, exhaling slowly as she heard the dial tone.
"Yeah?"
"Oh, thank Arceus. I didn't think you'd charge your PokeGear this soon."
"Yeah. I'm stuck in a Pokemon Center... this cord is too damn small."
"Hey, um... so... I think I finally hit that part we were talking about regarding a decision I'd come to regret later on."
"Did you kill something already?"
"I... the... but... um... yeah..."
"Yeah. It happens. Again, these are supernatural freaking creatures, Mallory. What did you do? Burn a grass-type down to a char? Please don't tell me it belonged to a trainer..."
"No... I... um... I used Nuzzle on a wild Wingull..."
"..."
"...Matt?"
"You're a fucking asshole, Mallory."
"I knooooooow..." Noelle cried out, hot tears now streaming from her eyes. "I didn't mean to!! I... was just... and then it... but I just... I'm sorry!!"
"Calm down, calm down!" Matthew sighed, while his face was heavily pixelated and hard to see in the Pokegear's tiny screen, Noelle could still make out a small, disappointed frown. "Look, this sometimes happens when you let your newly-found power get to your head. You need to chill the fuck out and be moderate when you're battling. I don't mean hold back, but rather, don't shoot to kill. Don't go overboard. Don't pit a Raichu against a tiny Pidgey. Don't use Fire Blast on an Oddish you find around. These are flesh and blood organisms just like you and me. Our mortal, meat-and-water based bodies have limitiations, so don't go overboard, okay?"
"Okay..." Noelle's voice shook as she sniffled.
"Stop crying. You're a freaking trainer now. You're on your own. You're going to need to toughen the eff up if you're going to make it any farther. You haven't even dealt with any evil organizations or had to choose between your trainer career or a cute gym leader..."
"I don't think I've fallen for any gym leaders, so I think I'm good..." Noelle giggled softly. Her brother's impromptu non-sequiturs definitely served to cheer her up.
"Don't. It's bad news... but then again, what could've been..." Matthew sighed dreamily, seemingly drifting off into a daydream.
"Um... okay. I think I get it." Noelle said, parsing the lessons given to her earlier. "Thanks, Matt."
"Of course, Mallory."
"Hey, one last thing, before I gotta go..."
"Yeah?"
"Can you please stop calling me Mallory?"
"No, thank you."
"But I was polite... I said please."
"I was polite too. I said no, thank you."
"I hate you sometimes."
"I love you too, little sister. Take care, okay?"
"Bye!"
Noelle sighed as she hung up her PokeGear and tossed it back in her bag. She continued forward, but, the same question remained.
"Where am I?"
((ooc: No thank you, no Helping Hand for me))

Thinking that she had basically destroyed a Wingull to the death, Noelle frantically called her more experienced brother for advises and consoles as a Pokemon trainer. After having a decent conversation about the battle just now, the young trainer was still lost on where she was. Not long after she walked away, she could hear some flapping of a bird fluttered away. Could the Wingull had recovered just barely enough strength after that battle to rest somewher else? If she turned around, the "dead" Wingull would be gone. Little did she know, she was heading northward from Slateport City to Mauville City. Occasionally she'll hear wheels whizzing by from the cycling road above her. As she was walking, she would come across a Gulpin who was devouring apple cores and a mixture of bitten fruits by other Pokemon, and other whole berries and fruits that other Pokemon just didn't eat because the quality weren't that great. For a Pokemon like Gulpin, any food is good food, because their acidic body just digest anything like nothing. The poison type seemed to continue whatever it's doing until it would be provoked.

As Noelle walked by, she stared at the Gulpin essentially devouring leftovers. It was truly a disgusting sight. The smell let out as its enzymes helped him devour fruit wasn't much nicer either. She winced at the display, a bit appalled at what she was watching, and mind you, this is a girl who still believed she witnessed the flash-cooking of a Wingull.
"Eww..." Noelle pinched her nose as she attempted to surreptitiously sidestep around the Gulpin. Hopefully, it'd be too distracted with its food to notice her.

Finding the sight of the Gulpin eating trash disgusting, the young trainer carried on and hoped the poison type didn't notice her. Thankfully, the Pokemon was too busy to shift attention away on the human. As she continued walking away from the Gulpin, the smell seemed to clear up. This time, she witnessed a muddy looking Zigzagoon, who was born with the ability to kick mud from its parents. The immature Pokemon kicking mud to make a pile on the ground, and then jumped and dove on it repeatedly, like a makeshift leaf pile but with mud. It's soft and cozy but also dirty, and FUN!

Noelle giggled at the sight of the Zigzagoon playing around in the mud. It helped lighten her mood. But by now she had become too paranoid. As much as she'd like to charge headfirst into another fight, she definitely didn't want to accidentally almost-murder innocent wild Pokemon.
She bit her thumb, deciding that she'd let the Zigzagoon be. He was having a lot of fun, after all. Who was Noelle to ruin his sandcastle building, after all?

Leaving the fun loving Zigzagoon behind, Noelle came across a young Voltorb that, despite not having appendages, was quite skillful in the art of rolling. Charging itself from a distance, the Voltorb rolled forward with its internal muscle, or electricity, who knows! Then, it rolled up a tree and bounced on a branch, shaking the branch a few times until some fruits dropped to the ground. It then rolled and landed on the ground with a loud thud, squishing the fruits. Next, it rolled carefully to consume the yummy plant droppings. Who knew that a Voltorb could do that!

Noelle tilted her head as she watched the Voltorb. It seemed to be eating some delicious fruit. Out of impulse (and a bit of electrical power), Tesla the Plusle popped out of his Poke Ball.
"Wait! What are you doing?! Come back!!" Noelle stared at the Pokemon who basically freed himself in order to get some of the fruits.
Tesla approached the eating Voltorb. Or rather, she was attempting to approach the tree to get a fruit of her own. Hopefully she didn't accidentally make the Voltorb think that she was stealing his food.

Popping out of the Pokeball, at first the Plusle wasn't detected by the electrical ball stuffing its face with food. However, when it bumped into a Pokemon that it swore it was't there before, the imitation sphere shot a glare at the suspect, the only other Pokemon out in this area, and in this case it would be the innocent cute looking Plusle. How dare this runt stole the fruits this Voltorb used its hard work to get them? The ball made some crackling sound as some electricity charged around the middle, arbitrary line of the Pokemon, sending basically a challenge toward the Plusle. If the electric mouse won, fine, it'll share the fruits. If not, the Plusle needed to hand it back.

Tesla stared at the Voltorb, as it began to emanate a small charge of electricity. She held onto the fruit defiantly, even taking a bite out of it, just because. Oh, no. Tesla was definitely taking charge of the situation, and not only accepting the challenge, but getting extra competitive because of it. It was more than just fighting for a fruit, she just wanted to jump in there and battle. Her hyperactive muscles ached for it.
Noelle bit her bottom lip. She didn't necessarily approve of Tesla's behavior.
"No, Tesla!" Noelle cried out, trying to discipline her. "Play Nice!"
Wait a minute. Isn't that the name of one of her attacks?
Tesla looked at the Voltorb, and smiled warmly, making a cute little, yet highly deceptive dance. Hopefully he'd lower the enemy's defenses so he could get a quick, cheap shot. What a jerk mouse.

Tesla may be a cute looking rodent, but the Voltorb was having none of it. Grumbling angrily, once the Plusle had put down the fruit, the electric ball rolled forward and slammed onto the electric mouse for a tackle, as hard as its rolling body could. Tesla stumbled back a bit. For now, she was still standing on her two little feet. The mouse was sorta playing nice toward the Voltorb, as much as the body language seemed to be saying. She danced and smiled and squeaked while keeping a distance from the Voltorb, but how much difference did that really made just now? This was about stealing someone's hard work to get fruit and to win them, not dancing for a cute date, right?
