Being the naturally excited person that she was, it didn't come as much of a surprise to Lillian's parents when she began unintentionally stomping about the house at seven in the morning, collecting her belongings as Slowking tried to shush her whistle reminding her about taking various important items and whatnot. Of course, it wasn't until about eight or so when she finally came tromping down the stairs, vibrating with excitement as she gave her parents and groggy little brother hugs and kisses good morning. She had almost ran out the door without a second thought, until her mother called after her.
"I know you're excited about going on another journey, dear," said the woman as she sat a plate of food in front of her brother, and another at Lily's usual spot at the table, "but you can't forget the most important meal of the day."
"Or that we still owe you a present," her father chimed in, taking a seat with his own plate of food.
While Lillian did seem upset about taking longer than she should (she did have enough food to last her a while, and trail mix was a common companion during her previous travels), her expression perked up instantly; in moments she was sitting at the table, bag hanging off of the back as she attempted to stuff her face while talking.
"So what's the surprise, anyway?" asked the blue haired girl with a mouth full of scrambled eggs. Her brother snorted a giggle from his seat beside her at the sound.
"I told you we should have waited until we had breakfast," her mother chuckled as she sat down at the table with a plate of food.
"Well, if we hadn't," replied her father with a chuckle as Slowking waddled up beside him, pulling a Pokeball from behind it's back and offering it to the man who took it with a nod, "she probably would have left before we even had the chance to give it to her."
Seeing the Pokeball, Lillian's utensils hit her plate, and instantly she leaned forward with obvious excitement. She even gave a rather excited gasp.
"You're giving me a Pokemon?!" she practically exclaimed. Granted, she had wanted to start with an actual starter instead of like she had before with her mother's Slowking. But she simply adored her parent's Pokemon, and whatever they gave her she would happily accept. "Ooo! Ooo! What is it? Is it a water type? It's a water type, isn't it?" Lillian continued.
"Alright, alright. Settle down," her father laughed, offering the Pokeball to her from across the table.
Lillian leaned forward and nearly snatched it up instantly. Without much of a second thought, the girl turned and pressed the button, aiming it at the floor. A red light appeared before hitting the wooden floor, forming quickly into a small Pokemon before the light dissipated. Where it had been was now a Mudkip, looking around curiously. Lillian screech in happiness, causing her family to jump (her brother choking on his food as he attempted to tell his sister to settle down, albeit with much laughter) and the Slowking to sigh and shake it's head.
"Well, we knew how much you loved your father's Marshtomp," Lillian's mother explained as the teenager slid off of her chair to kneel before the small water type, "so we figured we'd surprise you by getting an egg from of her so you could have your own."
"This is the greatest gift ever!" Lillian said enthusiastically, picking up the Mudkip before it even had a chance to poke at the open hands she had to offer. Lillian stood, holding the Mudkip above her as she spoke to it almost rapidly. "We'll be the best friends ever, I can see it now! Oh! I know! I'll call you Marsh!"
"Kip?" asked Marsh, tilting it's head to one side as if in thought. After a moment, it straightened and began wiggling around happily, calling out, "Kip! Kip Mudkip!"
Lillian giggled, spinning the two around before stopping to grab her bag and Marsh's Pokeball; housing the little Pokemon under her are, which it seemed to have no problem with.
"Thanks, mom! Thanks, dad!" she said as she shouldered the backpack and headed towards the door, leaving her plate half untouched. Her younger brother scurried from his seat to follow her, earning exasperated sighs from their parents. As Lillian opened the door and her brother nearly bumped into her, she turned to ruff up his hair. "Andrew, you be good! Maybe mom and dad'll even let you travel with me when I get more Pokemon!"
She then turned, dashing out the front door and waving as she went, saying about how she'd call them before the day ended to tell them how she was doing, leaving Andrew standing and waving in the doorway as her mother muttered, "Told you we should have waited to give it to her.
Species: Mudkip Name: Marsh Gender: Male Level: 5 OT: Lillian Ability: Torrent Happiness: 50 Hold Item: None Moves: Tackle, Growl, Water Gun Meeting: Starter Nature/Characteristics: Marsh is very similar to Lillian in many ways; he is outgoing, adventurous and simply loves to explore new places. He is often found by his trainer's side, rarely ever in his Pokeball and usually the first to sniff out new people or Pokemon to interact with. He is definitely tough little Pokemon, and doesn't seem to be afraid of Pokemon even twice his size. He can sometimes be protective of Lilian, and perhaps has more sense out of the two of them; it's obvious by how he can more easily tell friend from foe, and will be the first to tell you that he doesn't trust or like you if you give him a good reason to.
