Dagrun continued to smile as Karen told about her pokemon and what she hadn't got. "Seels are very pretty as well but if you aren't sure you like the cold, shroomish is probably a better fit for you. Seel is a part ice type after all and very handy in warmth weather," she said with a laugh. "If you like the pokemon, you should try get it, I'm pretty sure you wont be disappointed," Dagrun suggested friendly and then looked curiously at Karen. "You say you don't know if you'd like the cold, have you never tried to be in snow or something similar?" She asked and found it sounded strange. With how many tall mountains there were in this region, it shouldn't be difficult for a child to go on a days trip to the snowy partsand enjoy a good snowball match.
Dagrun wondered why Karen looked so disappointed for a moment, but Warin finished the battle before she got to ask and before she got an answer to her question. She wondered briefly if she was losing her skill to get information and decided it was a thing she needed to work on, it was crucial for her work. Her jaw tightened when Karen clearly was going to call out another pokemon, but she relaxed and looked more curiously at it when it was revealed. Whismur and its evolutions wasn't a typical pokemon used in her village as it was simply too loud. "How did you befriend it?" Dagrun asked more just to keep the conversation going. "Is there something about, that they are really loud?" Dagrun then asked in an attempt to learn how much Karen knew about her new pokemon.
Warin was tired from the battle, but he was proud he had won it, and he think he maybe felt a bit stronger too. "You are doing great Warin, make it confused and hit it with your wing!" Dagrun urged him cheerfully and he did as told since it has worked the last time. A deep breath before emitting the strange soundwaves he quickly followed up with, with a slap of his wing.
Dagrun was pleased with his quick reactions and that he had done it right away without having to check up on the egg first. It made him much more useful and would make it easier to seperate them, should the content of the egg be worthless to her. She knew it was a risk with the first move but she wanted to test it out and if she was right and it would be ineffective, Warin would at least learn something from that.

"Aww thanks," Karen smiled, gleaming happily from her face. "Maybe when I finish school, I'll go look for a Seel! And now, I haven't seen snow. Rustboro City's climate just don't usually have snow, and Mt. Chimney have too many volcanic ash for me to even go up there." She sighed, never mind the fact that Mt. Pyre was kind of creepy. "The Whismur? Yeah, they're usually silent or quiet, but when they are threatened, they would make a reallllly loud noise," She replied about Whismur, trying to emphasize how quiet and loud they could be, with none in between. Whismur seemed to exist with two extremes of decibels and none in between. "This Whismur was attacked by a Poochyena and I helped defend it with my Shroomish. Those Stun Spore was very helpful." She tried to recall what happened. After hearing Dagrun calling out her moves, Karen ordered her Pokemon to use Pound, with those floppy ears. The normal type wasn't quick on speed with those stubby feet, so Warin moved first and cried a confusing sound. The Whsmur looked confused, because it couldn't hear clearly the sound Warin was trying to make. Then, it went forward to pound the Wingull with one of its ears. When Warin returned for a striking Wing Attack, Whismur ended up receiving the damage, but also screaming loudly suddenly and made Warin winced and hit a tree.

"Your shroomish can both be an advantage and a disadvantage if you are going to use it to try capture a seel. Due to its part water typing it will be weak to your shroomish's attacks, but on the other hand your need to watch out for it's ice type attacks," Dagrun told, forgetting that the seel wouldn't get the ice typing before it evolved, or perhaps she had never known. Seels wasn't common around the Ninja village nor used by them, as it was a problem it was limited to water. She nodded as Karen told her about the Ash and such on the Volcano. "It is true that there aren't many places with ice and snow in this region, the Volcano doesn't have anything I can tell you. It is too hot to have an ice cap at the top, though it would probably be high enough if it wasn't active," she said and was thoughtful for a moment. "If you are not going abroad I think your biggest chance will be the Shoal cave, that one should be really deep and cold as well, and with all the water around I wouldn't be surprised if you can find seels there as well," Dagrun suggested without knowing if it would be a possibility.
Warin emitted his weird sounds which the whismur did seemed confused, but to Warin's surprise it still did manage to give him a slap with its short arms, before he got to retaliate with a slap of his wings. The astonishing scream it made threw him off balance and he got in close contact with a nearby tree.
"Warin!" Dagrun exclaimed overly worried as he sat dazed at the ground and she looked confused at the whismur, how did it manage to react to fast and precise all the time? Hadn't it become confused after all? "Soundproof! Of course, how could I be so stupid!" she exclaimed again and slapped her forehead, pretending she hadn't realized before. She was officially a new trainer. "Natsumi, I need you to take over here, Try see if you can Climb a bit on it," Dagrun said as she hurried to Warin's side to make sure he was alright. It had been a bit tougher learning experience than she had planned and she hoped it wouldn't discourage him. As she explained the wingull what had happened, Natsumi happily charged the whismur and attempted a Rock Climb on it.

Karen nodded as if she understood Dagrun's advise, though at the same time, she wasn't familiar with such Pokemon facts, whether if Seel could learn an ice type move early or if Seel was also an ice type. She'll probably find out some time later after this battle, but for now, she was just nodding as if she understood. Then she nodded again about the Hoenn region's climate, but oh, she had not thought of Shoal Cave! "Ooh! Maybe I'll travel to Shoal Cave one day to catch a Seel then! When I have enough for a travel, and a jacket and some boots for the Shoal Cave. Wouldn't want to hurt myself over there in the cold, haha." She chuckled. Or maybe she could start saving allowances now, if she don't spend them on snacks with her Shroomish and Whismur. She'll still have much to learn with spending smartly. Then, as the battle resumed, there wasn't much for Karen to feel anxious or hyped up about. Her Pokemon's attacks connect, and her Pokemon's Soundproof did an amazing job to block that supersonic. Her mind was starting to think about getting a Seel, but the opponent's switching Pokemon caught her attention back again. "Oh, a Zigzagoon! Whismur, use Echoed Voice and then Howl!"She was also confused by the move called Rock Climb. She had not seen a Zigzagoon with such a move before. When Natsumi did got close to the Whismur, she pounced on the Whismur like the pink Pokemon was a boulder to be climbed. The Whismur was stumbling and on the verge of passing out, and cried a loud Howl.

There weren't much more to talk about for Dagrun, as she had given her advice and Karen had answered. She had learned what pokemon her opponent had got and knew she should just get this pink one down to win, not that it was that important. She just needed her pokemon to learn enough to be able to win over Flannery's gym, though it would be best for their confidence if they won this one too. Speaking of confidence, she needed to be sure Warin wasn't going to lose his because of this. "You did so well Warin, and I'm sorry I didn't know that this one can chose which sounds it wants to hear and which not," Dagrun apologized. "And you did so well, taking out one opponent and doing a great job with the other, no one can expect you to take two opponents down in a row!" Dagrun continued to praise Warin in an attempt to boost his confidence. He huffed and preened his feathers a bit, before looking for his egg. He was doing it for it's sake and he didn't care much of if he won or not. There had been far less threats to it since he joined Dagrun, and that was more than enough for him.
The sounds the whismur emitted was painful for Natsumi's ears and the howl it made, made shivers run down her spine. It sounded ominous, a threat of something worse to come. She leaped forward to Headbutt her opponent and hopefully make an end to its soundwaves.
(Natsumi uses Headbutt. A small note, Natsumi has Pick up as ability, not Keen eye, hehe)

The Zigzagoon ran forward, slamming his head toward the unprepared Whismur. The pink ear-splitting Pokemon was passed out on the ground. Karen cried out an "Oh no!" sadly, and then returned her normal Pokemon and thanking it for its help. Approaching Dagrun, she counted some pocket change as the reward money, and thanked the opponent for chit chatting with her. "Thank you for the battle, ma'am! It was really fun and it helped me passed time, heehee. Now I must get my Pokemon to the Pokemon Center," she spoke after she had gathered her belongings. Then, she smiled and waved goodbye before disappearing from the view. Everything was seemingly quiet for a bit before something stirred again. This time, it was from the egg that Warin and Dagrun had been keeping an eye on. The egg first shook loudly as cracks were forming on the shell. Then, it abruptly "evolved" in a bright glow, and soon, a small, brown Pokemon was standing where the egg once stood. It was a Trapinch! Warin had been protective of a Trapinch egg. The young took a deep breath as it experienced the breath of fresh air outside the egg shell, and then looked at Dagrun curiously.

Natsumi ran back to Dagrun as soon as she was sure the whismur was down for the count, and looked expectantly at her trainer. She had won the battle and now she would get her treat, right? Dagrun smiled and found a snack on her back for the zigzagoon. It was good she had broken the code on how to control her, but she would need to fill her pockets with snacks to be sure she always had her help. Hopefully Natsumi would grow out of it and would help her even without snack at some point. Dagrun smiled to Karen as she came over with a reward for winning and sating her goodbyes. "Thank you too. It was a fun battle and we learned a lot," Dagrun answered as she accepted the money and waved goodbye to the girl. She was pleased as Warin had surely learned something from it, and it didn't look like he was mistrusting her either. The egg in Dagrun's arm suddenly started to shake and Warin didn't know what to do with himself. Dagrun carefully sat the egg down on the ground before him and crouched on the other side with the rest of her pokemon, who looked on just as excited. The egg hatched brightly and revealed a trapinch that looked curious at her and then the pokemon beside her. It was clear that Warin wasn't her real father, not by blood at least. "Wingull?" he asked quietly and the trapinch turned around while her face lightened up. As he said something again, she burred her head into his feathers with a happy squeal as she remembered his voice from her time inside her shell, and knew he had been there as long as she could remember. After having been allowed to greet the newcomer, under the watchful eye of Warin, and giving the trapinch a name, Dagrun captured her in a pokeball only to let her out as soon as she was captured, as Warin was clearly distressed when he couldn't see her. Dagrun hoped it would be better in time, or else could be troublesome. At least she didn't need to worry about having to separate them, as a trapinch and especially its evolution were highly useful, even so she could be tempted to try get her on her ninja team, though she was too young and unskilled for now. It was time to get to Rustboro. Find some easier training partners for Takara and stuck up on snacks for Natsumi. They should soon be ready to challenge Flannery, but better safe than sorry. (ooc: it was also mostly to get her ability corrected. I'd like to arrive at Rustboro, if possible.) After winning Karen's Pokemon battle and then meeting with her new team member, Dagrun returned to Rustboro City in hope to train her newly hatched Pokemon. Strolling on the streets, it was as if another day in the busy city. People were walking from places to places, work, home, school, stores, libraries, movie theaters, more stores. There were also people delivering things from places to places, such as newspaper (who read that when you have better technologies?), groceries, pizzas, sandwiches, catering items, boxes of shipments and online deliveries. However, for the Pokemon living in this city, the only thing moving were looking for food or entertainment, or the next evolution. For this particular Scatterbug, today would be the day it'll gain some more levels and evolve into a beautiful Vivllon, or so it thought. It held onto its string shot, dangling in the air from a light pole, and then released its string and landed right in front of Dagrun, ready for a fight. She better be a trainer and not another in-a-hurry human.
A (level 6) Scatterbug appeared!

Dagrun smiled as she finally reached Rustboro City and she hoped to find what she was searching for here, though it could take some time to get lucky. It was really busy when they arrived and Dagrun was happy she had most of her pokemon in their pokeballs, for now she only had Warin and Takara, as she had decided to call the trapinch. It was easiest with how nervous Warin was when he couldn't see his baby, and she was clearly a bit distressed everytime he was upset, so Dagrun kept them both out for now to avoid giving the youngster some bad experiences. That could really give trouble later on. Dagrun quickly found some useful snacks to bribe Natsumi with and eyed the newspapers, they were always a good source of information and often went more in depth than the short clickbaits you could find on smarter technologies. It was also a helpful way for her to get information that she otherwise would have difficulties in getting, now she was traveling around and had limited time to spent online. She had barely bought a newspaper before a scatterbug dived in right in front of them, challenging them to a battle. Warin was quick to place himself between the bug and Takara, and Dagrun wondered if he ever would do the same for her. She glanced at the wingull and decided he was too strong and it was better to go with something easier, perhaps she could even give Takara a chance to end it? Dagrun called out Baldrian. "Alright Baldrian, if you can just weaken it and hinder it with your spores, without knocking it out, it would be wonderful. It doesn't look that strong, so perhaps Takara has a chance against it?" Dagrun said and Baldrian nodded and spared a quick reassuring smile to the trapinch. It was Warin who would need the reassurance though, as he thought it was way to early for his little dear one to be battling, she had barely hatched! He followed the battle nervously. Baldrian startet out with a Stun Spore to hinder the scatterbug, before he used a Growth and a Mega Drain, hopefully that would be enough. Dagrun watched his doing with a pleased smile as he did exactly as she had hoped he would do. If she had calculated correctly, the scatterbug would be tired enough for Takara to have a chance. (ooc: Baldrian uses the mentioned moves And reading a newspaper XD)

Using Stun Spore, Baldrian sent a cloud of yellow powders toward the bug, who unfortunately breathed in and was stunned for a second, as seen on its frozen face. Then, the grass type mustered some energy to do a Growth in the daylight, making him looked a little bigger, but just a little. After that, the town bug fought free from the paralysis, and maneuvered itself with some crawl and swinging for a tackle, but the grass type was too tough to make a dent. Then Baldrian did a Mega Drain, and the Scatterbug collapsed on the ground for a few seconds, feeling drained. Then, it rolled over a little and used String Shot to swung itself around for a low-energy Tackle.

Dagrun followed the battle closely and smiled pleased when Baldrian managed to do exactly as she wanted him to. It left them with a very weak and tired scatterbug, that Takara might have a chance to face off and win over. it was of course a risk, but it would take a long time if she should learn it all by watching. Winning battles were the fastest way, but she needed to do all she could to make sure she would make it through and have a backup ready. Warin would never forgive her if she sent Takara out against something that was too much for her, especially not her first battle after having hatched. "Alright, I don't think we get a better chance than this. It looks really tired now and scatterbugs aren't very strong to begin with," Warin looked dismissive at her, not wanting to risk his baby. "I know you think it is too early but she needs to learn to fend for herself, and this is the most secure way. Yu don't know when you will find another suitable opponent for her, that wont risk her that much," Dagrun argued and Warin looked uncertain, though he still clearly didn't like the idea. "Of course I don't want to send her into too big of a risk, and I'd like for you to be ready to dive in and protect her if needed. So please, take to the sky and be ready?" Dagrun said hopefully and Warin looked at the innocent looking trapinch, who hadn't quite got what was going on. She hadn't tried anything about battling, though she looked dreamingly after him, when he took off and hovered above her.
"Alright Takara, I'd like you to join Baldrian and be ready to defend yourself against the scatterbug, that is going to tackle you, alright?" Dagrun asked and the trapinch looked curiously at her, before joining Baldrian and watching the bug before her, wondering what "tackle" meant and what was going on.

Trying to assure Warin about training the newborn, the ninja in disguise was hoping to accomplish a small goal with her team. However, that tackle from the Scatterbug didn't seem to come. It was paralyzed and too numbed to move. It was staying seemingly motionless besides the quiet breathing from the bug's organs, but other than that, its feet muscles and body were stunned to move. Now Takara was still wondering what was this tackle thing, and looked at her trainer curiously, and clueless.

Dagrun smiled when she saw the scatterbug had been paralyzed. "It's working! It cannot move! Quick Takara, now is your chance!" Dagrun exclaimed and sounded much more excited than she felt. Warin flew nervously above and rather wanted to do it for Takara, but for now he waited, now the scatterbug stayed still. "Careful, don't get too close," he warned her and she glanced at him before making her move. She had one way to attack without getting too close, it was not a thing she thought of per so, more just instinctive knowledge. She slowly opened her mouth, and as she did this light gathered in a swirling boble inside her mouth, which she released into a rainbow colored beam. It was small and not as impressive as it would have been, had she been stronger, but it was a signal beam and it looked to go directly at the scatterbug. It was a fine beam for Takara's first ever attack.

The Scatterbug could not move again, as the annoying paralysis made it numb again. It did managed to groan in pain for a bit, but it was a sudden cricket of noise, since it had been too numbed to make other noises. The Trapinch opened her mouth, and released very weak beam of rainbow, swirling beam of light at the opponent. The attack was considered weak for a newborn Pokemon, but it was better than a simple Tackle. The Scatterbug felt a little bit of the heat from the lightweight Signal Beam, and rolled over and passed out. This was Takara's first victory after hatching, although with a little assistance.

"You did it! You finished your first battle!" Dagrun exclaimed cheerfully and jumped around in a stupid celebration, if you asked for her own opinion, but she thought it fitted well with her character. It was contagious and soon the rest of her pokemon flocked around the baffled trapinch, who didn't understand what the big deal was. Baldrian had pulled most of the weight but he was congratulating her as much as the others without a shadow of regret. Warin landed beside her and she looked questioningly at him to see what he thought of the ordeal, since he clearly hadn't been happy she had stepped in to begin with. He exhaled relieved and smiled to her and first now did Takara feel happy about her win herself. "You did great, well done," he praised her and she beamed from happiness. Warin hadn't bee happy to see her face dangers, but he had to admit that he was proud to see her beginning to stand on her own legs, and he begrudgingly accepted that Dagrun knew what she was doing.
Dagrun was pleased with the battle, it had worked better than she had hoped and she saw a chance for getting another effective pokemon for her first gym battle, and perhaps in time also a strong allied. But it would require a lot of training and she wasn't sure she wanted to wait until Takara had matured enough for that, but it helped the rest of her team a bit also. If Warin could trust Takara was safe, he could also concentrate more on battles, and he was her trumf card in that battle.
Dagrun continued to look for opponents for her team, preferable something easier so Takara could be trained more faster.
