Huldra had spent a long time choosing her partner as she did not want to experience the same thing as with Keith, and there wer plenty of eager pokemon who wanted to work hard and become great. To the elder's surprise the choice fell on a nincada, whom Huldra had only met once when she managed to get it out of its pokemon a late evening. It was known to be quirky and a bit difficult to handle. Due to that it hadn't been trained much, so some of the others feared it wouldn't be strong enough to help Huldra with this important mission. "I was given the task of finding the one that would fit me most, and this is my choice," was Huldra's short answer when some tried to argue against her will and suggested to take another one. "I am sure you know what is best for you," the village's Leader said and silenced the others with a stare, "Come with me, I will give you the details."The Leader and some of the Elders informed Huldra of her task, though there wasn't much knowledge to it. It was her job to find them and their hideout and whatever she could gather of their plans. It didn't take long and she was soon ready to set off. The village's oldest Elder suggested strongly, that Huldra should go to a graveyard and pay some respect to a member of the tribe hwo lay there, and alluded that it was important for her to do, so Huldra promised she would. The journey from Kalos to Hoenn was uneventfull and rather boring, Huldra was in civil as she sailed and spent most of the days sleeping, since she spent time and quietly tried to train the nincada during the nights. Other than learning what it could and getting it used to her, she didn't get very far. When they reached their destination, Huldra's day-and-night were turned around, so she felt awake during the night and tired during the day, and the rest of the traveling on foot she did in the nighttime. As she reached Lavaridge Town, it was dawn and she took advantage of it to get the things she needed to pay the respect, before she went and get a bed at the PokemonCenter, and much to the Nurse's surprise, went straight to bed. As the sun set, Huldra was up and set off into the night, she had been in the area before and easily found the place somewhere on route 112. There was a little shrine there as well, as the ninja who had lived here alone, had taken care of it as his main task. When it became dark enough she called out Otieno and he quickly attempted to climb the nearest tree. Huldra knew he wouldn't venture far and ignored him as she started to pay her respect. She cleaned the shrine for leaves and dirt placed berries and found the amulet she had carried along with her from the village, which she would place in a small whole on the front of the shrine. She couldn't as it was blocked and as she looked closer, she discovered it was a pokeball. "So that's why they wanted me to pay repsect," Huldra stated and placed it in her pocket to continue her task. When finished she made sure Otieno was still in the tree and then looked at the newfound pokeball. "Eir," she read from the carving on top of the pokeball, she had heard that name before hadn't she? A flash of light, followed by a protest from the light hating nincada, and a farfetch'd was revealed. She looked proud back at the human, but smiled when Huldra gave her the ninja greeting for a sensei and repeated it dignified. (ooc: sorry I didn't wrote where Huldra was going, I somewhat thought it obvious since the other two options has a lot stronger pokemon It is corrected now)

With clear sky up ahead, and little to no wind, the weather was perfectly suitable for one to do anything, such as paying respect in a small shrine in Lavaridge Town. Hulda was doing one of her many duties a ninja, cleaning the shrine, when she discovered a hidden Pokeball that contained a Farfetch'd. The two greeted for a few seconds before something stirred in Route 112. A little not too far from them, two Numels were enjoying their day, chasing each other as their stumpy ground kicked up dust and dirt, They were either oblivious or careless about the ninja's work, where she had just swept up the area. It wasn't until they got closer that the Farfetch'd moved forward, whacking her leek on the ground to signal the fire type Pokemon to stop. One of the Numel was aggravated for a fight, while the other wanted to pull the Numel away as an apology. Now, how would the ninja proceed?
A (Level 3) Numel appeared! No special characteristics. A (Level 5) Numel appeared! No special characteristics. Weather= Clear Select one of the Numel to battle! (the other one will run away.) OOC: HI! Welcome to PMU! This is your first Pokemon encounter and will also be a mini-tutorial as well! Sometimes if the RP or creativity calls for it, two Pokemon will be rolled and you can choose one to battle! For a wild Pokemon battle, you are allowed to use three turns maxed. However, you are free to use less than three moves if you don't want to risk that much.

The night wasn't cold at all, not so close to a fiery mountain and Huldra was happy with her new addition to her team. It was good to know to have a good partner, who were well trained as well. She didn't dare to bond with Eir too much though, she wouldn't be able to handle another betrayal. They didn't need to say anything as Eir fully understood that her old trainer had passed her on to another ninja, who needed her help. She was produ she had finished her basic training and was deemed ready to work for real since her old ninja master hadn't ventured anywhere. Even the food was brought, or they had found in the surrounding area. She turned and placed her wings together with the leek in the middle, and bowed to the grave to pay her last respect to the old master.
She didn't get very long time though, as two numels appeared, seemingly obvious to what was going on, and what they were disturbing. Eir glared at them and leaped in between them and the gravestone to avoid that they covered it in the dirt they sent up. "Farfetch'd" She called out angrily as she slammed her leek into the ground. That worked and the two stopped to look at her, one looking a bit more annoyed and aggressive than the others. Eir had no intentions of battling them, she just wanted to be sure they didn't ruin the graveyard-shrine.
Otieno had another opinion. It was dark and he had a chance to battle! He sat on his branch and took aim, the numel in front, looked to be the strongest one of those two, so naturally that one would be his target. If he attacked the other, he would surely get backstabbed by the stronger one, while the weaker were often too scared to interfere. Jumped from the branch and aimed a scratch on the biggest of the numels.
"Otieno!" Huldra snapped as the nincada attacked and was on her feet instantly. She wasn't in her Ninja outfit, so it was limited how much she could help out. "Eir?" She asked a bit urgent and the farfetch'd swung her leek around skillfully. "Far!" She agreed and leaped out in front of the nincada to try block any attack, before attempting to slam her leek ontop of the numel's head.
(ooc: Thanks! I'm excited to see where this goes ^^ -Otieno uses scratch on level 5 Numel, then switches for Eir, who uses Leaf Blade on same opponent.)

Unbeknownst to the Numels, the ninja-in-training Nincada was practicing stealth, and practically pounced on the more aggressive one for a Scratch attack. That Numel could hear the Nincada coming, and went first with a tackle, knocking the bug type to the ground. Otieno didn't stop there though, as he jumped right back at the Numel to complete the Scratch attack. He'll have to work on ninja stealth some more! The other Numel wasn't too keen on fighting and went to hide behind a tree, just far enough from them, hoping the battle would end soon. Eir then took over the Nincada, as Otieno's typing was weak to Numel anyways. Thankfully, the agitated Numel was going for a fire type attack, and the duck blocked the attack from burning Otieno! The bug type reluctantly thanked the bird, but some day he'll be able to slice fire types too, right? Next, it was the battle between the Numel and the Farfetch'd. The avian displayed her mastery of ninja melee technique, by using the leek as a weapon, and also attacking the Numel with a Leaf Blade. The attack was quite strong as the young Numel had never seen it before. The move made the fire type struggled to get back on its feet. When it did, it charged forward for another Tackle attack, still not wanting to back down from this random fight.
OOC: experimental battle table Let me know what you think! unless the wild Pokemon have hidden ability, the normal ability will be ignored. (I haven't make up my mind if the pokemon just have 1 ability yet, i can only think of the levitate ones right now)

Otieno slapped his claw annoyed into the ground when Eir jumped out infront of him, though he ducked when the heat from the ember was hitting the farfetch'd nearby. He looked calculating at it and decided it wasn't worth the risk and turned around to leave the battle to Eir, without as much as a thank you. It was what you would expect form your partners after all, and it had been an order from Dagrun, even though it hadn't been a direct one.
Eir had raised her wings and used them to protect her body and her leek from the burning embers. When the numel stopped, Eir put out the last embers on her wingfeathers with one single flap before she attacked with her leek. She stumbled backwards as the numel tackled it and she grimced since she hadn't been ready and had almost lost her balance because of it. "Farfetch'd!" She said determined and pointed at the numel with her leek, promising it that she would win this battle and that it would gain respect for her weapon. She croauched, ready to leap forward again, when Dagrun took a step forward. "Wait!" She called and Eir stopped in her tracks and took a defensive stance instead, when she saw the pokeball, which Dagrun hauled forcefully at the numel. She wanted to be sure she hit the target before it attempted anything funny. Eir looked at the fire type from behind her wing, which she had raised to take the worst damage, should the pokeball not succeed to capture it.
Dagrun didn't think the numel would be a good addition to her ninja team, but since she wasn't going to be Hulda all the time, it would be good to have some non-ninja pokemon, she could have out and use, in other situations. Numel could be one of those pokemon and it was definitely not one that was usually associated with ninjas.
ooc: 1 pokeball used in capture attempt of Numel.
I think it looks fine, the battle template. I just think the picture of the farfetch'd looks a bit weird with all the space at the left of it, but I'm not sure if that is something that can be corrected, and I can survive it just fine.
Another note, careful about controling what my pokemon thinks or does in a current situation, as it doesn't always fit with my ideas and I see them as much as my character as the human/trainer one. As a suggestion I would love to get personality and background for the wild pokemon, so it is not just something flat I'm battling. It spices up the battles and it is often the reason why I want to try capture a pokemon. As an example, one of my starters on another site, I wasn't excited about and planned to sell, but then the mod (with my permission) gave it a personality where he was jumping up and down, never blinking, and it forced me to think of why he was that way, and now I love him! XD

Even though the Farfetch'd had wanted to defeat the aggressive numel, Dagrun had another plan. Stepping forward with a Pokeball on hand, the human wanted to capture this Pokemon because it would be completely unrelated to her ninja identity, should she not be in her disguise. After the Pokeball was thrown, the fire type was warped into the capture device as the Pokeball rocked to determine if she captured the Pokemon successfully. It rocked to the right. And then the left.
DING! The Pokemon was successfully captured! Now the ninja had her first non-ninja Pokemon should she wanted to cover her identity. Now, she's free to do whatever she wanted to do next.

OOC: I just don't like to center everything but i centered the second table as experiment. 1 Pokeball deducted As for the end of this mini-tutorial, you are now free to travel to anywhere in western Hoenn that you could travel to. Just note that the longer distance you travel, the more chance that a moderator will RNG a wild Pokemon before you reach your destination. If you're going from Mauville to Fallarbor City, for example, you could have two paths and you should indicate which route so a mod can RNG compatible pokemon should you encounter one Whenever you feel ready, you may take a quest in the quest board, simply create a thread with a title you want and use OOC to say which quest. Or you may challenge gym in any gym sub-board, and create a thread as well. When you're ready to take a quest or gym thread, simple RP your way going there in this main thread, and make a note about pausing "-- pausing to go to gym--' "OOC: taking a quest" etc.

Dagrun nodded pleased when the pokeball did as it should and hit the numel before it got a chance to try avoid it. She had thrown it as fast as she could for that exact reason. Now she could nothing else than wait. Eir was ready too, she had was prepared for the numel to break out of the pokeball and charge her directly, but it didn't happen. the pokeball shook a little, before it lay still. "That was easy, well done," Dagrun said, mostly to Eir as she was the one who had done most of the job. She recalled the farfetch'd and picked up the numel's pokeball, before she searched a bit for Otieno, who had climbed a tree and was working his way through the bark to get to the treesap underneath. She recalled him too. She looked at the sky, the night was still young. She quickly finished cleaning up the shrine and thanked the old master for his skillfully trained farfetch'd, before she decided it was time to continue on. She had a task and she wouldn't find her targets by sitting around here and doing nothing, she couldn't expect them to pop in and announce themselves, and as she walked through Lavaridge Town and the closed Gym (since it was of course not open while everyone was sleeping[/s], she promised it she would be back. Since Eir had been trained here and it was here her first pokemon catch had happened, which made it the beginning of the mission for real, and therefore, her first Gym battle should of course be here as well. She just couldn't sit around here waiting for her pokemon to be strong enough for that challenge, but it was good to test your strength. Dagrun walked briskly as she attempted to get as close to Rustboro City as she could before dawn. Traveling at night from Lavaridge Town to Rustboro City, Dagrun would have to travel through the busy Mauville City, and the aromatic Verdanturf City, and then Rusturf tunnel to reach there. While most Pokemon had been asleep at night to even bother the ninja, the humans at Mauville City don't seem to be sleeping, especially for the night shift workers and security guards, or people finished their last drink at their bar or late night movies. The lights were still beaming in Mauville City. However, once at Route 117, the route connecting Mauville City and Verdanturf Town, a small town known for their flourishing flowers, her travel was interrupted by a Zigzagoon who hadn't find a spot to sleep yet. The Zigzagoon smelled a bit of human food, as if it had just finished exploring Mauville City in secret, eating junks like fries and salad that human had tossed. With a hint of mayonnaise sauce around its lips, the furry Pokemon was strolling when it crossed the human unexpectedly.
While traveling to Rustboro City at route 117, a (Level 5) Zigzagoon appeared! It knows egg move Rock Climb!

Dagrun had shifted to her ninja outfit, when she was safe out of Lavaridge, as it was easier to travel fast and unnoticed that way. Especially while it was dark, and it would be easier for her to follow suspecius poeple, should she be so lucky to get across any of them. Now dressed in black, she was no longer Dagrun, and Hulda hurried beside the road to get as close to her goal as possible while it was still dark. It was much easier to travel when everybody else was asleep, and you could hurry without worrying about if you would bump into someone. Or if anyone wanted to talk to you or needed your help to something. Hulda kept her pokemon in their pokeballs, as she didn't needed them now and they would just slow her down or reveal her as they weren't that trained yet. Hulda got a long way undisturbed, which pleased her, but just outside the town she encountered a pokemon. She paused in the shadows while she wondered what it was doing out here in this hour. It didn't look like it had noticed her, perhaps she should just let go? She narrowed her eyes as she looked at it, on the other hand, it may were going to somewhere interesting, or she could get some needed information. She could perhaps also just waste her time, but she didn't have any deadline and she ahd to start somewhere. She started to sneak after the zigzagoon and should it notice her, she would send out Eir to take it down quickly to avoid it telling anyone. (ooc: Trying a bit different approach, I'm curious to see what you'll do with this Eir will use Leer and then Fury Cutter on the zigzagoon, should this end in a battle)

Running across route 117 and still haven't noticed the human following it, the Zigzagoon continued until it came into a little home where it rested. With the mayonnaise around its lips, the white sauce was interfering with the young Pokemon's sense of smell. With mud on the ground and logs around it to protect the little pokemon, the normal type was getting ready for its sleep, finally. It had gone to sleep a little later than usual, and it was getting tired! The tired Pokemon yawned softly and then curled to fall into a deep sleep. Sleeping soundly, it rolled a little in its sweet dream, and the rolling revealed that it was also sleeping with some nuts that it had gathered long before winter would be coming. There probably could be more nuts that it was hiding somewhere in its little hideout. It even had pine cones too, and various fallen leaves. Now that this Pokemon was sleeping soundly, what would Dagrun do? Perhaps, if she had wanted to capture it, she could try throwing a pokeball, but the Zigzagoon was hiding in a place good enough that the branches and logs would block the pokeball from hitting it. Not to mention, it was dark and it could miss. If the human wanted to approach it closer or engage it in a battle by throwing her Pokemon onto the field, the bright light would wake up the Zigzagoon as well. Or there could be other ways to lure the sleeping Pokemon from its current slumber?
This (Level 5) Zigzagoon is now asleep!

Hulda followed the zagzagoon silently and was as expected unnoticed all the way, as it let her straigth to.. its den? Hulda crouched behind the tree and looked towards where the normal type had laid down, and puffed out her cheeks in disappointment. It had been too much to hope that the zigzagoon had been going somewhere related to her mission, but she had thought it had been something interesting or important. It was rare to see a zigzagoon who didn't ran in zigzag, so Hulda had thought it had been heading somewhere important. What was it doing anyway? She called out Otieno, doing her best to hide the flash of light, and looked towards zigzagoon's den to see if it had appeared and was out to see what was going on. Otieno was blending well in with the ground beside her, not moving a muscle as he knew it meant business when Hulda was dressed like this. He may be a weird nincada, but he was trained in the ninja arts.
If things were quiet, Hulda would sneak forward and to the side of the zigzagoon's home and peek inside. She exhaled and looked dryly at the den, this was what she had spent time sneaking after? It looked rather messy and smelled of junkfood, perhaps it was liing like a hobo or something? Otieno appeared beside her and looked intently at the zigzagoon, it was clear he wanted to battle it but didn't attack without permission as they were not just fooling around like when Hulda wasn't in her ninja disguise. Hulda looked closer at the zigzagoon, why not? Dagrun could use another pokemon and if it was a zigzagoon who could keep itself from getting distracted all the time, it might even be useful. Perhaps it knew about the towns as well. And if not, she could probably find it another home, she didn't like the way it was living, not from waht she had seen until now.
She gestured for Otieno to stand back and clapped the dirt a few times to wake the zigzagoon up. "Sorry to wake you up, I just wanted to know if you were interested in some food?" She would ask and show the packaged food she had brought along. She was used to go for quite some time without and she didn't want to waste too much time here battling. "I'm not here to battle you," she said, though the nincada behind her looked very muh like it was what he wished for. "I'm offering you the food, because I hope you will join me," Hulda informed and would give the food to the zigzagoon, should it wish so, in the hope it would join her.

OOC: RNG is so high that even Great Ball rate of packaged food can't help lol I set the Zigzagoon's hp to 70% as experiment because it's just resting so it shouldn't be high health and it's not injured, just sleepy Instead of battling the Zigzagoon, Dagrun had decided to send out one of her Pokemon to at least wake up the normal type first, and then to see where she would go from there. Approaching closer and closer to the Zigzagoon, if Dagrun don't wake it up soon, it'll be sleeping deeply until sunrise! With Otieno out, the ninja bug clapped dirt and made some noise. After clapping a few times, the normal type finally woke up, although feeling tired from the distraction that woke it from the sleep it was trying to get. Thankfully, it was even too tired to be aggressive. The Zigzagoon listened to the human talking, but it could just see a blur of the human. It sniffed some opened package of food, which made him think immediately that it would be Honey Nut Cinnamon Crunch Snack Bar. The furry Pokemon moved forward and took a bite, grabbing the snack bar and bit it with its head half asleep. What was this human doing anyways? Feeding it at night? After biting the food, the Pokemon didn't feel much, and was beginning to fall asleep again. Perhaps this food wasn't working.
The (Level 5) Zigzagoon is awoke but didn't overly like the food so it's trying to sleep again. Dagrun it's closed enough to throw a Pokeball (or tap the ball on it), but it will have 50% to start a battle if the capture failed. (The other 50% is too tired to fight.) Because it's trying to fall asleep again, next action would make the Zigzagoon starts at 65% HP, whether it's another food or a ball.

Hulda watched as the zigzagoon ate half sleepingly and a shadow fell on her face when it ate without properly having woked up, and promptly went to sleep again afterwards. That had been a waste of good food and she wondered what she should do now, should she give up on it or give Otieno what he crawed for? She looked at the sky, the night would soon be over and a battle tended to take too long time. She decided to give it one more go, but would be sure it was properly awake this time. She clapped the dirt again and called to it quietly, and would do it louder if it was still asleep. If nothing worked she would sent Otieno to shake it awake, with stern orders not to do anything else. He would raise his claws to defend himself, should it chose to attack him. "Hey! I'm talking to you," Hulda said quickly, she was not used to speak when acting like Hulda. Not unless she was with other ninjas. "I hope you liked the food, I have more for you, if you are interested," she said and showed the other food she had, "But! Only if you wants to come along. I will capture you in a pokeball and let you sleep there." She exhaled glad she was done talking.
(ooc: trying another Food Package, should it attack will Otieno use Harden.)

Being awaken by the human and her Pokemon again, the sleepy Zigzagoon took a look at Hulda's next packaged food. While it was a different one from the one before, the normal type's blurry vision and sleepiness was in the way of making proper judgment. The Zigzagoon took a sniff of the food and decided to take a bite. Hmm! It was actually good food! It came out of its hiding place and yawned loudly. The human better hurry to capture it into a Pokeball if it wanted to go along, or it will go back to sleep. The Zigzagoon was finally convinced that following this human was a good idea, and particularly without a battle with her as well. Wagging its tail, the Zigzagoon squeaked and smile at Hulda and the Nincada, thanking them for their offer of food. And then yawn again naturally.
Otieno gained 5 happiness for sharing food!
