Well, Marsh was defiantly a lot stronger than she thought. Two electric types, and he hardly had a scratch on him! She had debated going to Mauville sooner, but staying to train had been an even better idea. While she felt bad, Lillian also had very little supplies, and simply helped disguise the injured Voltorb better from other wild Pokemon -- bad idea, considering Voltorb had a tendency to explode at any given time; but Lillian was never full of many good ideas, on her part -- and decided to keep going along the route.
There were plenty of Pokemon to be found here, obviously, even though the bike path was nearby and people often frequented it. One would think that the Pokemon would be scarce due to the constant human travel, but apparently they learned to live with humans quite easily. Then again, the Trick Master lived on this route, too, and he seemed pretty odd to begin with; so they had probably seen worse.
"Wow, I forgot how nice it could be out here," said Lillian ecstatically. "It's so peaceful for being wedged in between two busy cities."
Marsh didn't seem to notice too much, preoccupied with the nearby water as they walked. Lillian frowned, but shrugged it off; he was probably just tired. She would likely train her other Pokemon while they were there. She was just hoping to find more Pokemon here she liked. Not that she didn't like all Pokemon -- but Voltorb and a few of the other Pokemon on this route weren't the nice of nice Pokemon she was into. Eletrike were pretty cute, though their Shiny forums were really pretty; and Plusle and Minun were just so adorable, but not many people were into double battles anymore.

The area that Lillian had stumbled upon had some nearby water, which makes for a nice resting place, or a hangout place. This part of the route was quiet from wild Pokemon, particularly because two boys have nothing to do in a hot summer days. Letting their Pokemon out to relax, the two boys were friends from their school, and they decided that today, skipping rocks would be how they could pass time. They also have a Pokemon in common, a young avian known as Taillow. They were a bit nonchalant about the young children's competitive nature, but were glad to be resting besides the fact that their vocal range could be loud and piercing. It wasn't long until one of the boys spotted Lillian walking down the route, and one of them came up with a wild idea. "Hey, Billy, want to have a tag battle with the trainer over there? Whoever's Pokemon loses first have to buy the other ice cream!" Allen grinned, thinking he might have a chance. "Ooh! Ooh! Ice Cream actually sounds good right now! I bet I will win!""Nah uh, I will be the last one standing!" The children went on with the taunting for a while, before noticing that they haven't proposed such a challenge to the trainer. "Hey miss! Would you like to have a double battle with us? Two of us against two of your Pokemon?" Allen ran forward, shouting loudly, hoping to stop the trainer before she moved too far away. The two Taillow noticed what was going on, and stayed close to their respective trainer.

Marsh noticed the two young trainers before Lillian, stopping and tilting his head to one side as they spoke. Lillian hadn't even noticed until one of the boy shouted at her -- and at this point, she had already taken several steps ahead of her Pokemon.
"Huh? A double battle?" Lillian asked, turning around. It didn't seem like a bad idea -- and this would be a great way to train with Minun a little bit more as well. "Sure! Marsh?"
"Mudkip!"
The water type happily sprinted to where the boys were as Lily followed, grabbing the Pokeball off of her belt. A red light flashed, and Minun stood looking rather confused at the trainers and other Pokemon. This wouldn't be too bad of a battle; Minun had a type advantage, though granted there were two Taillow.
"Alright - I'll go first!" Lillian said. "Marsh, use growl! Minun, use Nuzzle!"
Marsh gave a cry before marching forward and growling at the foe Taillow. Minun gave her a confused look before hesitantly dashing at one of the Taillow, trying to get close enough to nuzzle the Pokemon.

And so, the double battle had began between the two boys and Lillian's Pokemon. The boys' eyes lit up, their easily-satisfied ambition were fueled for this double battle, Though they did have an ice cream bet on whoever loses first would have to pay the other's ice cream. With one of their Pokemon in common, Billy had ordered his Taillow to attack first, using Peck on the Mudkip. The water Pokemon tried to leaped out of the way at first, but the bird made a u turn and struck the water Pokemon from behind. Marsh could felt the sharp beak, but the battle had just started. He cried loudly and also cutely, making the avians uncomfortable as the sound lowered their intention to hit hard physically. Then, Allen's Taillow also used Peck on the Minun. The electric type used the flying type's proximity and leaped on the bird, and then ran toward Allen's Taillow for a Nuzzle, paralyzing it. The bird's movement slowed, and the young boys were a bit confused. "What was that?" Allen asked. "The Minun did something?" Billy replied. "Huh?... Taillow, hang in there!" Allen shouted encouragement at his Pokemon, but then Billy also wanted to point out how the Mudkip wasn't really attacking yet.

"Way to go!" Lillian cheered on her Pokemon.
Marsh let out a cry as he was hit before he could even attack, stumbling slightly. Minus lept back after nailing an attack on the other Taillow, seeming pretty proud of himself. Thankfully, the Taillow he hit seemed to become paralyzed from the attack; it wouldn't be moving so fast now. Double battles didn't seem as hard as Lillian thought it would be. And the Minun seemed to be a tough little Pokemon, too.
"We can do this!" Lillian cheered again. "Marsh, use Water Gun! Minus, use Quick Attack!"
Marsh placed his feet firmly on the ground and opened his mouth; a jet of water spraying out towards the opponents. Minus dashed quickly forward at the paralyzed Taillow, likely to hit first because of the bird's paralysis.

Running extra fast and extra hard, the Minun charged forward and aimed at the paralyzed Taillow. When he got close, he slammed his small rodent body on that avian. The bird took some damage, but was otherwise fine. The feathered Pokemon stared at Minus intensely, as its energy was focused at... revenge. Even through its paralysis, it managed to focus its energy on vengeance. After that, Marsh fired a Water Gun aiming at the other Taillow. It was a direct hit, soaking the bird wet. Next, under Allen's order, the bird begrudgingly chirped its growl, lowering the physical ambition of the opponent Pokemon. Well, that wouldn't affect Water Gun though, because it wasn't a physical attack.

Taillow were sure feisty little Pokemon, weren't they? Lillian never saw many of the bird types growing up -- Wingull and Peliper were more common in Slateport, for obvious reasons -- though she had heard that they were hardy little Pokemon who wouldn't hesitate to fight someone twice their size. She considered getting one, once they actually managed to get one.
The growl didn't seem to bother the Minun much; merely startling the Pokemon into jumping back slightly as the bird growled at him. Could birds even growl to begin with? Albeit a little hesitantly, the Minun strode forward with another quick attack at the paralyzed and weakened Pokemon.
Marsh obviously wasn't much of a thinker when it came to battling -- or, at least, he was less to startle than the Minun he was battling alongside. As the focus energy didn't seem to affect him either way, the water type Pokemon could tell the Taillow was weakening and shot another blast of water gun from his mouth in the hopes of defeating it.

"Watch out Taillow, the Minun is coming for you!" Billy shouted, which was wrong because the Minun ended up hitting Allen's Taillow. Though as a young boy, Billy sometimes can't tell which Taillow was his, since they were similar in sizes. "Oh oops... " He sheepishly apologized as he realized the electric mouse went for his friend's Taillow instead, and then awkwardly called his Taillow to use Growl. Though his avian also gave Billy a few seconds of glare from that mistake of the two birds. Just then when it was giving its trainer the glare, the Taillow was knocked out from a shot of Water Gun from Marsh, knocking the flying Pokemon unconscious. In response to his friend's Taillow being defeated, Allen had his Taillow used Peck instead on Marsh, but the water type seemed to not feel much from the attack. "I'm not done yet. Come on out, Seedot!" Billy cheerfully swapped out his Pokemon, and sent out his tree nut Pokemon. Out from the sphere was an almost sphere Pokemon with some eyes and basically looking like a tree nut.

Well, at least one of their Pokemon was down. Lillian felt so proud of herself and her Pokemon; it seemed they were almost done with the battle! Well, until the boy returned his flying type and sent out a little Seedot. They weren't all that terrifying, really. Though she knew most Seedots knew Bide, and that could be very damaging if they weren't able to defeat it before it unleashed it's energy. It was either that, or wait out the Bide itself -- and waiting for two or three turns for the little Seedot to do absolutely nothing seemed like a pretty boring idea. Plus, while they would be fine with the other Taillow, both Minun and Marsh had a type disadvantage against the grass type (granted, it probably didn't know any grass type moves as of yet, lessening her worry about Marsh being KO'd), making it a little harder to defeat. Which was why Lillian thought it a good idea to return the little Minun -- who looked quite exhausted already -- before pausing.
Wait, she'd almost forgot -- whole new region, which meant she had no other Pokemon to send out besides Marsh, who was already in battle. Which meant she'd have to send Minus back in anyway, making her feel quite stupid. She probably should have thought of a better plan.
Just as she was about to grab the Pokeball she'd just put on her waist, there came a rustling from nearby. It sounded like a small struggle, really, and Lillian was about to ask the boys if they were hearing it, too, when a yellow blur finally came jumping out of said bush it some sort of battle cry. Only to get tugged back down forcefully by the cloth the creature had been wearing, getting caught on one of the branches of the bush.
"Ele Elekid!" said the small Pokemon angrily, struggling for a moment before finally freeing itself from the bush. Jumping onto it's feet -- successfully, this time -- and striking a pose; a cape made from various undergarments such as underwear and socks hanging from it's back. Even Marsh had to give the electric type an odd look. <"Don't worry, dear Maiden!"> exclaimed the Elekid (even though only the Pokemon could understand it). <"I have come here to save you!">
Granted, it looked like it took him some time to get there, if the leaves and sticks protruding from his body and cape were anything to say about it.
"Uhm... Okay," Lillian finally managed to respond. She went to get down to the little Pokemon's level and ask it where it had came from exactly, when the small Pokemon shot past Lily without a second thought and onto the battle field, little arms spinning as it began to charge up. No sooner did Lillian right herself did the Elekid's arm suddenly light on fire and launch itself towards the Seedot. "Oh, I guess he's on our side?" Lillian asked, confused. Well, if this Pokemon was nice enough to help, then.... "Marsh, use water gun on the Taillow!"
Marsh paused a moment before nodding, taking a few steps forward and spraying water from it's mouth at the Taillow.

Thinking over the situation, Lillian thought her options were out. However, in the middle of this surprise double battle, an Elekid wearing a strange costume combining people's clothing seemed to be saving the day for now. The two youngsters were a bit surprised by the appearance of the Elekid, but they also found the cape made from underwear hilarious. How the electric Pokemon managed to keep the garment together was another question, but the boys were laughing out loud a little. However, their laughter was cut short by the Mudkip's Water Gun, essentially knocking the weak Taillow out. Then, the Elekid was spinning his arm so fast that the electricity sparked up fire instead, and the fire, fueled by the intensity of the summer sun, knocked the poor Seedot before it can do anything. "Aww, man...." One of the boys moaned at the fainted Pokemon, but his mood also quickly changed. "That is so cool!""Elekid can do that?!" The other replied, stunned by the Fire Punch. "I'm sorry, Taillow. Return. Come on out, Poochyena!" The last one of the defeated young trainer sent out his remaining Pokemon, a dark type mammal who was known for biting things. "Alright Billy, you're buying me ice cream! I still have my Poochyena left!" The boy turned to his friend, who made sure that he didn't forget this agreement that they had made a few minutes ago.

Well, this Elekid sure made things easier..... Though Lillian was a little concerned about the cape he was wearing. She figured she would ask later, though. The Taillow fainted with ease, the Seedot following soon after; leaving only one Pokemon for the opponent. (Well, Poocheyna weren't all too terrifying, but they did have a pretty good bite on them.) So the Elekid knew Fire Punch, then? It must have been some sort of Egg Move; Lillian didn't know of any who could learn it naturally.
Lillian debated whether or not to capture the Elekid after the battle. She already had an electric type -- but she could also use this Elekid as her main electric type, and use Minus on another team. An Elekid could eventually evolve into an Eletrivire, which were some pretty impressive Pokemon if you ever managed to find one. She just hoped the Elekid wouldn't pack as much of a punch against her water type starter.
"Alright, Marsh, use --!"
"Elekid!"
The small Electric type launched forward before Lillian could say much, again whirring it's arms at a fast pace. It suddenly produced a Thunder Shock from the prongs on it's head, directed at the dark type Pokemon. Lillian gave a small sigh. Well, at least the Elekid was on their side.
"Marsh, use Water Gun!"
The water type, surprisingly, seemed hesitant to move at first; as if afraid the Elekid might start attacking him, before stepping forward and producing a steady stream of water from his mouth.

When the Elekid produced the first thundershock, the Poochyena was able to dodge while the electric Pokemon was making another shot. However, after Lillian finished her command, Marsh was just about to fire his Water Gun when the Elekid landed a successful hit this time. The young canine yelped in loud pain, and fell to its feet for a second, with some of its hairs singed by the electrical attack. It tried to get back up two seconds later, but its hope to dodge the Water Gun was stop short by a powerful splash of water in its face. The dark type was gone without even a chance to attack. The two boys were disappointed that the battle had ended, with an audible sigh. Then, they thanked the older trainer for her time to help them decide who's buying ice cream this time, and gave her some prize winning as well. The young boys weren't made of money, but they had something... for Lillian for winning. This battle, although it might have been strange, gave the new trainer an opportunity a taste of double battle, something that Hoenners like to do some times.

Needless to say, Lillian was very proud of herself. A little confused, but proud none the less. The last Pokemon fainted with ease. Marsh seemed to have the same though; puffing his chest out rather proudly. Granted, he seemed upset as the trainer returned him to his Pokeball. But he was probably going to be worn out here soon because of all the battling he had been doing. The boys thanked her, and she said her goodbyes as they left to get their ice cream; leaving her with the tiny Elekid who was bounding around with limitless energy.
He was kind of cute, really. His makeshift cape was a little dingy, but it wasn't anything a good wash and stitch job couldn't fix. She already had an electric type on her team, sure, but another might not hurt. She could always create more teams for them, anyhow; to be fair.
"Hey little guy, settle down and come here for a second!" Lillian asked of the little Pokemon as she knelt down. Surprisingly, the Elekid stopped in his tracks, sideways a few feet from here and blinked. Had he forgot that she was there?
"Elekid!" said the small Pokemon as he hopped and turned to face her, making a stance. He didn't seem angry; just playful, if you could call it that.
"Hey, what do you think of coming with me for a little bit?" asked Lillian.
The Elekid blinked and tilted his 'head,' as if trying to process what she had just said. That didn't faze Lily, however.
"I promise you'll have great adventures with me," Lillian went on as she reached into her bag and grabbed a Pokeball. "You can go all over with me, and maybe even evolve!"
The Elekid seemed intrigued by the word 'evolve', and he took a curious step forward. His cape fluttered somewhat in the breeze. Electricity buzzed for a second, and then he grabbed for the Pokeball like a child happily grabbing a toy being offered to them. He seemed to examine the object for a second before he jumped in surprise. He seemed to accidentally press the button on the front, and a light engulfed him as he disappeared into the Pokeball. It fell to the ground and proceeded to wobbled a few times. It finally stopped, and the light flashed indicating the Pokemon was caught.
Lillian made a happy sound as she picked up the Pokeball and rolled it around in her hands for a moment before putting it on her belt. She turned and thought for a moment, then decided to continue her route to Slateport. She couldn't be too far away now, right?

Intrigued by the motion of possibly evolving and growing with the human, the Elekid joined Lillian with her adventure. As the young trainer continued on the route, she could hear the occasional ringing of bicycles riding overhead in the cycling road, and the sound of distant Pokemon shuffling about in the tall grass. Nothing out of ordinary seemed to happened for a while, as today was another normal day, with moving clouds blocking the sun occasionally, and a gentle breeze to cool off the skin. When Lillian had arrived at an area where the Cycling Road situated on top of the route to give the area shade, a small rodent Pokemon was noticing the smell of human and got curious. Sniffling the air and moving curiously, the red eared rodent shuffled around the tall grass to locate the source. It had no idea what was sparking its curiosity, Perhaps it was the fact that the human had two electric Pokemon on hand, or the fact that wild Pokemon kind of associate humans for a fun casual battle, or associate them for free food. Whatever the case it was, when it saw Lillian in the area, it jumped out and squealed with excitement!

There didn't seem to be as many people as she thought there would be. Maybe she was just late? She was used to going earlier in the day. Then again, that was probably before she outgrew her old bike. Most people tended to avoid the tall grass unless they needed -- or wanted -- to. Lillian didn't really understand why. Meeting new Pokemon were always fun. And there were usually still some trainers she could battle on her way in between cities, too.
Speaking of Pokemon -- Lillian nearly jumped at the Plusle that jumped out before her. Lillian jumped, squeaking. She had nearly missed it, had she not been so lost in thought. She really hadn't thought to keep a Pokemon out to warn her. They needed to rest, right?
"Well, hello there!" Lillian greeted it happily after a moment, hoping it was friendly.
Wait -- she had a Minun on her team, right? How cute would be to have both? But that would mean three electric types on her team. Well, she could always switch out Pokemon as she needed to to avoid any catastrophes. And it wasn't like she couldn't say no to any future double battles or possible contests if she trained it and the Minun up, right?
