Wherever that figure went, it felt like faraway, or that was what it felt like in this blazing weather. Even in the shades, the air seemed to be a little too warm. Soon enough, they found another human riding a Ninetales. Dressed with a sporty cap but light weight clothing with bright colors, the Pokemon Ranger was quite alarmed to see another human nearby.
"Uh... Hello! I'm a Pokemon Ranger, and isn't this too hot to be out here for you?" She hollered, trying to remain calm with so many things happening. Her concern was practically keeping travelers and wild Pokemon safe, which so far she had gained the trust of wild Pokemon to have them as safe as possible. The sky echoed another Screech. The ranger looked up for signs of danger, when suddenly, he noticed a few specks of flames falling down from the sky. If Dagrun looked at the sky carefully (amidst the heat and swear dripping from her forehead), she might have seen something flying fast.
"Ninetales, use Safeguard!" he ordered his Pokemon. The fire mammal created a temporary barrier in thin air, completely eliminating the falling flames as they touched the barrier.

Dagrun paused as the other human called to get her attention and she waved to show she had heard her. She found it too hot to use a lot of energy to shout back. The ranger was surely better dressed for this than Dagrun was, even though Dagrun was wearing light summer clothes. "Probably yes, but I'm fine. I know how to behave in a weather like this," she reassured the ranger calmly. Both her pokemon were affected by the heat, though none in a terrible manner and as long as they stayed in the shadows, the egg seemed fine as well. "We heard a weird sound that might be someone calling for help, and we didn't wanted to leave someone in need behind. That can be fatal in a heat like this," Dagrun added more seriously. At the same moment the screech was heard again and Dagrun gaped as noticed something that flew by really fast. Neither Warin or Baldrian were fast enough to see it, but they did see the flames that were falling down. Dagrun pulled Baldrian in between her legs and covered both him and the egg with her body, while Warin stretched on her shoulder to counter any flames with his watergun. It didn't became necessary.
"Thank you, that was quick thinking," Dagrun said honestly. She recalled Baldrian, to which he protested but it was too dangerous for a grass type to be out with such big fire birds flying around. Could Talonflames be in the areas? Could they even make it this hot? And there had been rumors about legendaries.
"What do you think that was? Moltres?" Dagrun asked and chuckled, to be suggestion a legendary pokemon. People spent decades in the attempt of getting a glimpse of one. She also thought of Ho-oh, which was the only other flying fire legendary, but that one usually were sighted in Johto and not here in Hoenn. Of course she wasn't even sure if it had been a bird, but what else should it be when it was in the sky?
Unless the ranger stopped her, Dagrun would continue in the direction the thing had flown, if it was the same as the screech.

The Ranger nodded as she heard Dagrun's response. Well, at least she wasn't talking to a dumb human who risk themselves in the heat, as that had actually happened before, and it was a little more common than you would think. However, he didn't actually replied until after the flames seemed to be safe from attacking them. The ninetales gave a soft purr that it was safe for now to move again. The Ranger patted her Pokemon, and then turned around to reply.
"You welcome. Safeguard always come in handy for projectile attacks that were't aimed at you and went to something else, but it's not good for actual direct attacks." She replied, glad to know that her job as a ranger was thanked. She hummed for a bit and then responded to Dagrun's speculation. "Well, you seemed like a smart girl. The sound you heard calling for help was actually the Moltres. Something... strange seemed to be attacking in the sky and that's why it's making the weather extra hot. The Moltres was releasing quite a bit of heat on top of the sun, but by tomorrow morning, it should be okay. Seeing as you're not passed out yet from the heat, maybe you could help keep wild Pokemon or the forest safe. "
She took a quick sip of water before resuming. "Though make sure you only let essential Pokemon out who could handle the heat and potential rescue. If things catches on fire it'll be bad. Oh, and by the way, I saw a figure running around and it can't be you is it? The shadow or the blur don't seem to match what you're wearing anyways. We're still not sure if that person is another trainer helping out or not, and we're also not sure what that... thing is attacking the Moltres and if it's even a Pokemon, or a Pokemon with a trainer." She trailed off a bit, and then looked around the area, as well as the sky, again and keep an eye on anything new. She was getting ready to keep moving on her job, duh.
OOC: long talks, more clues, more plot unfold PS. it's ultra beast but i honestly havent decide which one that can take a FIRE type legendary lmao PS2: there's one more npc i think in this event quest. is it friend? foe?

Dagrun nodded her agreement, "I need to remember that," she said and pretended she didn't know about the move and had just learned to could come in handy. "A moltres?!" Dagrun exclaimed honestly as she hadn't really thought that would be the case, "You are kidding me!" She listened closely to what the ranger had to say and it was pretty clear she wasn't joking, but it was almost unbelievable. A Moltres, a legendary! But again, what else could affect the weather like this? She frowned when the ranger talked about that it may be attacked by something that wasn't a pokemon. "What else should it be, if not a pokemon? A machine?" She asked curiously and wondered if this could be the doing of one of the two teams she was trying to track down. Perhaps they were using some kind of machine since a normal pokemon wouldn't be able to hold up against a legendary. She wasn't even sure a bunch would stand a chance, though if you had enough pokemon you could probably take down one of the legendaries. She didn't believe that was the case here since that would surely require a lot of pokemon and that wouldn't have gone unnoticed.
Dagrun too looked at the sky to see if she could see anything. "I can go look for pokemon and humans who need help, but what should I do, if I come across anything like the Moltres or whatever is after it? I'm pretty sure we can't handle anything like that," Dagrun said with a smile. Of course she would go looking, it was a great chance to see if the teams were involved, and if not she wouldn't complain of a glimpse of a majestic moltres. She was well aware it wasn't Keith she brought along with her and any suggestions of what to do, should she accidentally get too close, would be welcome.
When she had learned what she could from the ranger, she would continue to look around and try find the mysteries figure, when having being told in which direction that had been.
ooc: I like talking ^^ And if it is an ultrabeast, it's probably one that isn't weak to fire. None are water, but there is a rock one.

She didn't really have an answer to what that thing was attacking Moltres, but as science and technology improved, she wouldn't be surprised if a machine could handle the heat of Moltres. However, she wasn't sure if a machine could last that long in the air while fighting Moltres. So, she made the smart choice and just remained quiet to that question and just smiled uncomfortably as she didn't know.
"Well, thanks. That's very helpful of you to help out on escorting Pokemon to safe places. Just find a big tree or something with a nice shade or source of water, if you can find any." She replied. "Alright, I have to get back to work and see if more Pokemon needed my help." She spoke, and then turned around and walked away from the scene with Dagrun.
Whether or not Dagrun stayed in the shade or decided to keep moving, she would hear another one of Moltres's screeching noise two minutes later. However, instead of being distant last time, this time was actually quite loud and sounded really close. She would also be able to feel the temperature of the air around her going up, as the fire type Pokemon might be defending itself with fire attacks against whatever that was coming its way.

"Yes, of course. Thanks for the advice and I'll do my best," Dagrun said cheerfully, while she annoyed thought the ranger didn't have to state the obvious. It would have been more useful to know what she should do if she encountered what ever that was fighting in this area, though she should be able to avoid the battle. She knew how to move unseen and detect other movements around her quickly, though even she could be surprised, especially with unskilled pokemon like the ones she brought along today. As soon as she parted ways with the ranger, Dagrun set out to find that shadow or figure the ranger had talked about. Since the Ranger hadn't said anything about in which directions, Dagrun and her pokemon couldn't do much else than search randomly and help the wild pokemon they came across along the way. (ooc: I did actually try to get on to the next sted in the earlier post, byt saying what Dagrun would do when she had finished talking with the ranger That would have given me more to do and speed things up a bit)

Moving through the forest unseen, Dagrun soon found herself in a clearing. She seemed to have exited the forest, to a clearing so far from the dirt path that would lead one to the next city. Without the covers of branching trees, everything was now easier to see. At the same time, without the protection of the trees, there was no place to hide from the blazing, sweaty heat.
Though this was also a blessing. Up in the sky, Moltres was screeching once again, and it was charging at something else, completely didn't see a human there. It moved its head a bit as it took a huge breath, and then fired a volley of rapid, intense burst of flames toward the opponent. This might be the move Heat Wave. However, the opponent... looked awfully strange. It was not a documented Pokemon was it? Was it even a Pokemon? It had large wires for a body. It moved swiftly on the open field, dodging the flames with ease, although one or two did hit it, spinning the creature a little as it tried to re-balance. However, it let loose a huge burst of electricity onto the field at the right time, hitting the Moltres a little bit as the bird screeched in pain again.
Some jolts of electricity darted across the grass and made their way to Dagrun, but thankfully, a Flygon swooped in and absorbed the immense electrical attack, leaving Dagrun unscathed. There's quite a lot of things going on here, but perhaps this creature was what distressed Moltres and causing the heat intensity, for starters.
OOCL now to guess the UB

Moving forward Dagrun and her pokemon didn't encounter any wild pokemon or humans that needed their help. In fact they met no-one at all, but the heat was as strong as ever. As they reached the end of the forest, Dagrun stopped unsure if it would be a smart move venturing out from the protective shadows of the trees. She looked around at the open field as another screech made her look and stare open mouthed. Up in the sky was moltres, it was definitely the legendary firebird, and Dagrun was overwhelmed by this rare event and how lucky she was to see it. IT could probably be discussed if she was lucky to experience this, as it could very well be her last if they got too close. Both Warin and Baldrian kept well out of sight, not wanting to go out to something was was certain death.
Dagrun frowned as she noticed what was making moltres angry. "What is that? A robot?" Dagrun asked loudly and leaped back as electricity was sent in her direction. Luckily a flygon flew past to absorb it in just the right moment. Dagrun eyed it warily as the wondered if that had been a random case that had helped her, or if it had deliberately tried to save her. In the covers of the trees (she wasn't going to move out into the open with those fighting), she looked at the weird cable-like thing. It looked like an alien of some sort, and definitely not a pokemon. Dagrun's best guess would be that some sort of evil genius had made a robot of some sort, that could match a legendary pokemon, from what it looked like. The heat probably came from the moltres, as the other one shot electricity and not fire, but Dagrun didn't have any way to help the moltres or put an end to it. She couldn't face any of them, so what could she do? Other than look and hope the moltres won and would calm down.
(ooc: I guess it is a Xurkitree, but Dagrun hasn't seen them before, so I don't know how she should be able to guess it)

The Flygon shook its head, as if replying that "No, it's not a robot". Hiding from behind a tree, a man in trench coat and wearing gloves came out. Or maybe it wasn't a trench coat in this weather, perhaps it had some temperature helping technology thing. "No, it's not a robot," the man said. "we don't have the technology that can handle repeated fire attacks yet from Moltres, or other legendary fire types." He hinted, as if they existed in Hoenn. Then, he thanked his Flygon for stepping in and blocking the attack from hitting Dagrun.
"I've been trying to track this down all day. Not Moltres. That thing. I think... they called it Xurkitree. If you're wondering why it's extra hot today, it's Moltres trying to defend itself. Of course, fire and electricity don't work that well as a defense. But the electricity is giving Moltres a hard time." he spoke, staring at the situation without moving his head away. Though he was just casually talking to the woman. "We've never seen this creature before. Though it seems to be only targeting Moltres right now. Maybe Moltres was trying to protect the other Pokemon."
The two Pokemon weren't attacking each other yet, as they were taking a breath or two. Moltres was flapping in the air, and the strange creature was just sort of like... what you would called breathing?
OOC: yes I may or may not have forgotten how i was gonna end this since y'all dont have strong Pokemon yet. being a watcher could be one way to end i guss

Dagrun barely noticed the head shake from the flygon, and she barely got time to be surprised that it reacted and was still within view of her (that made it clear it was not an coincidence), before someone spoke to her. She jump startled and spun around to face the man who was speaking. He didn't look familiar but she glanced at the flygon and decided this was a trainer she wanted to be friends with, rather than enemy. She joined him and glanced curiously at his clothes, not what she would be wearing in a weather like this. "It looks quite serious indeed," she gave as answer and listened as he continued to tell what he knew.
"When it can take on a moltres, I assume it is too much for your Flygon as well, unfortunately I don't have any pokemon that stand a chance against any of them. Warin here can at most provide some water for the thirsty, but that's about it I'm afraid," Dagrun told as she watched the two in the sky. "It is a rare experince to get to see a legendary. It would be a shame if it is also going to be the end of it," she added a bit sadly, although most to herself.
"I'm sorry if I'm blunt, but who is 'we'?" Dagrun asked after a moment of hesitation. "And would you mind telling me, all you know about it? I'd like to helt, but it's difficult when I don't know what we're up against. And I do prefer to know what I'm doing, instead of just following orders without question. I know not all should be told, but everything you can share would be a help," Dagrun said with a hopeful smile.
(ooc: XD If you have forgot the ending, I'm really curious to see where this is going! Is the man Looker?)

The mysterious man nodded at the comment about the legendary Pokemon. "Mmhmm. It would be a shame if we could not capture this strange creature. " He then continued without pausing, "My Flygon would be fine. An electric move on my ground type would still be ineffective."
After being asked question, the man smirked a little and made an apologetic face. "Ooh, I'm sorry. I won't tell you my name as I am kind of high profile." He paused to think about his words before speaking. "I am basically a member of the Hoenn government officials, but also representative of the scientific community. You can say I am he bridge between two. This strange electric thing would be threatening to Hoenn in a way, but also a new subject of interest to the scientific communities."
He examined the battle as Moltres and Xurkitree were at it again. One released an electric attack, and one blocked the attack with fire attack. The two projectile clashed and caused a mini explosion, creating dust and cloud temporarily. It took a moment after that last turn for the man to make a suggestion, "Remember how I said about capturing this creature? Do you think you can come up with a distraction for the Xurkitree to focus on my Pokemon instead? It seemed to be focus on Moltres and if I'm going to capture it, I would need to face it head on, and leave Moltres out of this."

Dagrun listened to the explanation and found the situation and the man more and more interesting as he continued. If she could learn anything about it, it could prove useful later on. If not then for learning about the region and how it was woirking with the police and secret police and such, that could be a help to get closer to the two gangs as well.
"Not even a fake one?" Dagrun laughed as she paused after having refused to tell her his name. That would have been the most easy, especially if he was supposed to work a lot undercover and such. Of course, perhaps he wanted to be mysterious and get her to wonder about him, that would keep her attention from other things, they wanted to keep from her. It wasn't a lot to answer her questions but she had a feeling it was because he didn't know that much himself either. She was quiet as well, as they watched the battle above. If he asked, she would tell him her name, but she wouldn't give it out otherwise, perhaps he wanted them to know each other as little as possible.
Dagrun frowned as he asked for a way to distract the band of wires from the moltres. She glanced at Warin and Baldrian, who did their best to stay out of sight of the two behemoths. "Perhaps I can, but I'd need some help from your flygon then. Warin can try go up and confuse it, but he wouldn't survive one of the bolts it can send out. If your Flygon can fly Baldrian up there, he can try cover it with Stun Spores, which should make it easier to handle, if it works. But you need to help out, as I'm not willing to sacrifice them for something I don't know what's going on, not when there are plenty of stronger trainers out there, who would have a chance in a battle," Dagrun said seriously and her two pokemon looked worried at her. They didn't fancy going close to any up there in the sky. "I am not sure, how to keep the things attention though, as Moltress will probably take advantage if it works and attack it again, but I don't think it would be a good idea to paralyse or confuse it, while the other one is around," Dagrun added slowly.
With such weak pokemon as she had at the moment and with her little knowledge about the living wire, or the legendary, she would let the other man have the final word. She would succeed in convincing both Baldrian and Warin to go try hinder the xurkitree, if the man agreed to the terms.
(ooc: if the investigator accepts to keep Dagrun's pokemon safe, Warin will try Confuse Ray and Baldrian Stun Spore on the Xurkitree)

The man hummed at the "Not even a fake one?" comment, maybe that's what he'll do for now to make the stranger a little more comfortable. "Well then, you can call me Agent--" He paused and looked at the Moltres. "Agent M." He then listened to the woman's proposal on her plan of attack. While he did agree most of it, he had some objection of his own.
"Well, I did tried to attack with my [electric Pokemon or Pokemon with electric move I have't decide yet] earlier, but it seemed to be ineffective against this Xurkitree. In fact, my Pokemon fainted and that's why I'm using my Flygon for this situation. So far, Flygon had been holding up to the electric moves no problem, like it was just another electric type Pokemon." He paused for a second to inhale deeply. "With that guess, then an electric move probably won't work. There's some risk of a confusion that it would attack other Pokemon, but I think they have been staying out of sight, especially in this clearing. Maybe it will even stop trying to travel around when it can't tell directions. We could give it a try." He replied, but this meant that only Warin would be the one out there trying to confuse the foe, and would have to rely on Flygon to absorb the electric attacks.

Dagrun smirked when he chose a fake name, both because he followed her suggestions but also because of what he chose his name from. Well, the big bird was his mission at the moment, so it was probably fitting.
"Your [Emolga, if I can come with a suggestion] is a brave one," Dagrun answered impressed while he took a deep breath and listened closely to the rest of what he said. She nodded her agreement to his words. "You are probably right, that it can't be paralyzed then," she said and Baldrian sighed with relief. He may not take as much damage from electric attacks, but he was sure he couldn't endure it from a creature like that. Warin on the other hand looked very uncomfortable, and it didn't become any better as Dagrun turned to him. "It's a lot to as of you, but moltres needs our help. Flygon can protect you, you remember how it protected us earlier, right? I would like if you can get up there unnoticed to use the Confuse Ray, and then get away again," she explained him and he looked scared back. She frowned and turned to Agent M. "What happened when your [emolga?] tried to do something about the problem? Is the Xurkitree too absorbed by the moltres to notice others and it was a random charge that was unlucky to hit, or did it attack directly?" She asked him seriously as she didn't want to loose Warin.
When it was cleared up and it was deemed safe for Warin to make an attempt, Dagrun convinced him to give it a try. He was careful and would try to get close without being noticed, and when possible he would send a Confuse Ray after it, before he would retreat as fast as possible.

It had dawn on "Agent M" that, this was kind of becoming a rotational battle, sorta. With the Moltres, his Flygon, and soon the woman's Wingull having a single go at the Xurkitree, if for some reason a Supersonic wouldn't work, the water bird would have to go at least one or few more time to work, and he would need his Flygon's coordination to absorb the electric attack.
"I think it was an unlucky hit, since some of the Moltres's fire attacks would interact with the electric attack to cause a mini explosion and smoke. You know, like the ones you see in an intense gym battle or Pokemon league championship battles? I had no idea how many seconds late I was to the scene when the Xurkitree started attacking Moltres or other Pokemon, but its power seemed much too strong to even defeat my [electric Pokemon]. Normally electric Pokemon would be able to take some hits from another electric attack, but there were some injured Pokemon already by the time we got to the scene." He replied with a stern voice, trying to remember what had happened just about an hour to thirty minutes ago. After all, when you can fly on a Pokemon or ride on one, you can speed up travel time.
"Flygon, what do you say? This Wingull's gonna help us out to confuse the Xurkitree, but I'll need you to help absorb electric attacks," He shouted at his Pokemon, to which the desert dragon nodded, and cried to tell the Wingull that it'll be alright.
OOC: Okay it's definitely not Emolga haha Wingull only has Supersonic
also referencing beast boost ability.
sorry to backlog a bit on the last part of RP, I just wanted to make sure in RP the Wingull is ok with this first lmao. we'll just pretend wingull is practicing in its head first
