Dagrun had barely made it to Rustboro City before a heatwave arrived and made it difficult to stay out in the sun for long. Even the shade could sometimes be a bit too much and a lot of people spent their days at or in a pool or inside with aircondition. At first nothing seemed out of the ordinary, but the rumors began about sightings on a legendary, which also caught Dagrun's attention. The two team she was investigating, were both interested in pokemon who had something to do with the weather, or at least could be connected to it due to their said abilities of expanding land and sea. You'd expect it to be warmer if there were more land, right? It was a long shot but Dagrun needed to investigate anything if it had the smallest chance of being connected to her targets, or else she would have no chance to figure out their scheme. Seeing a legendary pokemon in the middle of the city were slim, so Dagrun packed a picnic basket and told her pokemon they were going for a legendary pokemon hunt and picnic, and would roam the areas surrounding Rustboro. Dagrun reassured her pokemon she only wanted to see the rumored pokemon, se had no intention on battle any legendary, they wouldn't have a chance.
They startet out one early morning and Dagrun wondered how many times she would need to do this before discovering something, if anything at all. She was sure her pokemon would get tired of it long before she learned something useful from this little trip. She would just let them stay in their pokeballs and continue her search and pretend she had got really stubborn about seeing a legendary.
It startet out well and Dagrun got a chance to learn her pokemon a bit better. Warin turned out be a quiet pokemon who were reserved but friendly, as long as others kept a respectful distance to the egg, which was his main focus. He spent most of the time laying on it and otherwise taking care of it. He accepted that Dagrun carried it around while they were moving, but he wanted it back the moment they took a break. He didn't seem to have any problems with Fiera, not as long she kept her distance at least, though he kept an eye on her, since he like Baldrian found the fire type unpredictable. Baldrian's polite demeanor quickly won him over and the two began to chat friendly with each other, mostly about the egg. Natsumi on the other hand, Warin refused to have anything to do with, and did she get too close he would peck at her while glaring. Baldrian told the zigzagoon quietly that it was probably because she had insulted him during the battle, and he convinced her to apologize to the wingull. Not that it made any difference as he still didn't forgave her, which upset Baldrian. Natsumi on the other hand didn't care much about it, it wasn't Warin who brought the food and as long as he didn't get in between her and her dinner, he could hate her to all his hearts content.
The first couple of days nothing happened, but their trips were nice and on this fourth day the sun were already high in the sky when they set out. It would soon be really hot and like earlier they planned on finding a nice shaded spot to relax during the hottest hours of the day.

While there were a lot of legendary Pokemon written down in text or had their pictures drawn, seeing one would be likely a once in a lifetime opportunity. How many people get to say that they saw one? For Dagrun, while she might be investigating the teams on the side, seeing a legendary of any kind would be an interesting event. However, there's no telling how well the rumors would turn out to be. The first few days nothing had happened, but the rumors in the towns and internet hadn't stopped. Soon, a young man approached Dagrun with a panic on his face. Shouting with excitement, he called out, "Ma'am! Have you seen any Taillow around?" Then he realized that this area would be also where Taillow and Swellow make home, and he would have to be a bit more specific. "Have you seen my Pokemon Taillow? He's a bit close to evolving but I think the heat had gotten onto him! I think he's hiding and I last saw him flying in this direction."
He panted and then saw Dagrun's panic getup, maybe this wasn't the right person to ask help with.
A Bird Keeper was looking for his missing Pokemon.

The day looked like it was going to be like all the others, but both Dagrun and her pokemon were in a good mood and looked forward to a day exploring, albeit something interesting didn't really happen. They were prepared for a day like the rest and were already looking for a good shady spot to wait out the hottest hours of the day, when another trainer arrived and was way too active for the temperatures already present. "Oh I have seen plenty of taillows, but they are probably not the one you are looking for," Dagrun said with a faint smile, despite his panic. She listened more seriously as he continued his explanation and nodded a few times. "Now calm down, I'll help you go find your missing taillow. If you don't take it easy today you are going to get a heatstroke, have you brought any water?" Dagrun asked and would refuse to continue, or let the man continue before he had at least shown he had some water with him, or if not, had drunk a bit. "Unfortunately I haven't seen any taillow fly past resently, but it is probably still nearby. Is there any specific markings or something we can use to distinguish it from wild taillows? And what exactly happened? Please tell me everything," Dagrun asked the man and would listen closely to what he could tell her.
Dagrun's pokemon used the time to relax while they waited to hear what the plan would be. Natsumi had scratched the surface of the ground to get to the cooler area below and had stretched out on top of it, to better be able to handle the heat. Dagrun had placed the egg in the deepest shade and Warin stood beside it and kept checking the temperature and occasionally beat his wings a little to cool it down, if he thought it was getting too hot. When it got really hot, he would use it watergun to further cool the egg on top of giving it air and he would be busy with that until the heat dropped. Dagrun thought it was fine since he was so grateful whenever she stepped in to relieve him a bit or offered him water. Baldrian was the one who handled the heat best. though he too preferred the shadows when the sun was highest. At the moment he stood beside Dagrun and listened to what the humans were talking about. Even though Fiera would love to be out in a weather like this, Dagrun kept her inside her pokeball as the numel were often running around like crazy when the sun was as strong as today.
When Dagrun had something to go for, she would ask Warin to take a trip around the nearest area and see if he could spot the hiding taillow.

Exhaling deeply, the man was reminded to drink his own bottle of water. Thankfully, he still have like, maybe three left in his bag. He was panting heavily after the initial introduction, and made a hand gesture for Dagrun to wait one moment, while he opened the cap hurriedly and gulped down half the bottle before pausing to speak. "Well, thank you for reminding me about my water. Phew. Anyways, I saw the back of news station helicopter and we were trying to chase it, because it might be going to where the legendary Pokemon was heading towards. But my Taillow suddenly screamed in pain and flew downward to this direction. I was also sweating hard too from the heat."
He took another gulp to drink the last half of this water before resuming. "He's kind of an eater so it might be a bit bigger in size. He also likes to sleep a lot to cool down, so maybe it was hiding in the trees?" He pondered, trying to remember what this Taillow would look like. Not every Pokemon was going to have scars or different coloration or pattern to distinguish themselves.
"Thank you very much for your help though, I really appreciate it!" He added his appreciation.

Dagrun just smiled humorlessly when the man thanked her for reminding him to drink water, it wouldn't help her at all either if she suddenly needed to get him to a doctor due to overheating. She frowned when he told her about what had happened. The thing about a news helicopter could be interesting, and they may had found something she could use as well, but it was worryingly what he described had happened to his taillow. "That could almost sound like an attack, but by whom and why?" Dagrun thought loudly and rubbed her chin before she continued, "it sounds logical that would hide and as a bird a tree would make sense as well." She looked around at all the trees and sighed, she would need more than one flying type to search it all. It would be like finding a ditto in a herd of tauros. She thought hard to try come up with some other kind of solution and after a bit she nodded for herself as she had some ideas that might work.
"Running around shouting will probably don't help, especially not if he is scared, but my wingull can go scouting and easily cover a wide area while looking for him," Dagrun suggested and would take over taking care of the egg while Warin flew out to look for the missing taillow. He would fly close to the treetops so he could see in between and if there were someone hiding there. If he found the taillow he would call out to it and ask if it was missing a trainer.
Dagrun would turn to the man afterwards. "I don't even know your name yet, I'm Dagrun," she said and would barely wait for him to tell her his, before she would continue. "You said that your taillow loved food, is there some kind there is his favorite that we can use to lure him to us? Something he can't restist?" She asked. She didn't have any pokemon with the move sweet scent, which also could backfire by calling a lot of wild pokemon, but perhaps they could take advantage of the taillow's enjoyment of eating to get it to come to them.
Baldrian hadn't said anything, but had taken over keeping an eye on the egg, to warn Dagrun if it became too warm. Natsumi didn't look like she cared at all as she more or less snoozed the day away.

"Well, it's certainly not the helicopter people I wouldn't want my Pokemon to fly near that helicopter blade," the birdkeepr hastily responded, but then trying to remember what happened. However, after a minute of silence and a pondering look, it seemed to happened really fast for him to recall. "Honestly I don't even know. The sun was out and hurts to look up in the sky so I only saw glimpses every now and then. One second my Taillow was flying and then later it was flying another way to hide." He sighed, well that certainly wouldn't be helpful.
"Oh. I'm Alexander but you can call me Alex for short," he introduced himself in return. "My Pokemon loves to eat a lot of food honestly--" he chuckled, "--but definitely no sour or spicy. He might look a bit chubbier? bigger? than wild Taillow though, if it helps." He replied, hoping the size of his Taillow would be a helpful clue. "Also, He's actually fine with me yelling, especially when I yell at him to stop eating my saltine cracker or breakfast oatmeal. Then he'll squawk at me back, and we yell and squawk a bit." He chuckled, he have a strange relationship with his Taillow, but his Pokemon was probably attacked by something that made it turn back.

Dagrun nodded to show she agreed. The chances that it had been a helicopter that scared, or even hurt the taillow was slim. If it had been those were so big that Alex surely would have seen it and known! It had to be something smaller, or something that was good at hiding, and a helicopter were none of those things. She raised her eyebrows and looked a bit impatient as he told her a lot about his taillow, which was cute enough but there weren't really any good information they could use to find it, other than it might where a bit more fat than an average bird. It made her think it was one that was so fat it barely could fly, but she didn't say that out loud as it would be stupid to look for something like that, if it wasn't the truth. And Alex would probably be offended by it as well. "I see," she said slowly as she tried to figure out how to word her next question, so he answered it. "What is his favorite dish? What food can't he say no to and just have to eat?" She asked and hoped that was enough to get what she needed out of him. "And perhaps you can show us where you two got separated when my wingull returns? Perhaps we can find some clues there," she said with a smile, that didn't quite reach her eyes. She found him a bit dull and slow and therefore annoying. She thought for herself, she should have expected it when Alex came running and shouting in this temperature and she did her best to be patient with him. She was used to the quick efficient ninjas and even though she knew she couldn't expect others to be just as organised since they hadn't trained all their lives, it still annoyed her when she could see how much faster things could go.
Warin didn't like his task, mostly because it until now had been fruitless Mmh, a juicy fruit would be wonderful right now. It was too hot to fly around and he kept worrying about the egg. Dagrun seemed to know what she was doing and she had been good at helping protecting it, but it was his egg and she was just a human. He decided that if he didn't find that darn taillow soon, he would return to check up on it before searching elsewhere for the missing bird.

"My Taillow seems to like noodles. something about slurping up the pasta that kind of look like worms maybe?" He giggled again, thinking about his Pokemon's funny personality. He was wondering for a second about going back to where they were separated, especially since he was already sweating hard and moving a lot earlier looking for help. "Uh.. Yeah, sure! It'll be a walk in this weather though, you sure about that?"On the other hand, Warin at first thought the search was fruitless. However, thinking of fruit might have been a good clue. Picking up the scent of Rawst Berry, the Wingull flew toward a patch where the berry tree grew. There were signs of the berry tree being rummaged, but thankfully there were still many berries for the Pokemon there. While the berry bush was a bit too short for an avian to perch on, if Warin looked around, he would find a Taillow resting in a nearby tree, resting as peacefully as it could. The Taillow even have a bit of blue juice on the tip of its beak from biting the Rawst Berry, as well as some burn wound that were just starting to heal up from the help of Rawst Berry and resting a bit. 400 words added to egg

Dagrun was quite surprised to hear that the taillow preferred spaghetti as food, and it made it a lot more difficult to use it to lure it close. You rarely brought spaghetti on a picnic trip on a hot day, and it didn't sound like Alexander had brought any himself. Dagrun would later keep wondering why a taillow could find spaghetti so interesting, since she didn't thought it had much taste and didn't most, people as pokemon go for the taste rather than pure look? Of course, perhaps the birdkeeper put something on the spaghetti without telling Dagrun, he wasn't good at giving informations she thought. She rarely thought people were good at that, and usually too slow as well.
It was probably the weather that took away Dagrun's patience, but she got quite annoyed when the Alexander asked if she really wanted to go back where he had lost his taillow to see if they could find some clues. No, she did not want to walk around in this heat, but she had offered her help to find that darn bird and what else could they do? She found him annoyingly incompetent in handling birds and suspiciously uninterested in doing whatever it took to find his bird again, though she was pretty sure it was just her paranoia and him being clueless about what to do.
"We can wait for Warin to come back before going, since we don't have anything else to go by, I think it is our only option if we want to find your taillow again," Dagrun finally answered instead. "It will be hot yes, but you want to find your bird, don't you?" Dagrun asked him.
Warin was getting thirsty by this search and he found it unfair that he was the one who had to do all the work, while all the others were sitting in the shadow of the tree relaxing. Of course he knew he was the one who could fastest scout around, but that didn't make it more fair, not in this weather. He was about to give up and return when he smelled berries and he didn't need to think twice about going there and eat some to quench his thirst, it was just was he needed and his mood became a lot lighter. As he got closer he noticed the signs that others had been there, which was to no surprise for him. As long as there was something left for him, he was happy. He landed beside the bush and began to eat, and first when he was feeling refreshed did he look around and notice the taillow in the tree. It was just was he was looking for and he hopefully leaped to land in a nearby branch. "Hi, what have happened to you? And do you have a trainer who could be looking for you?" Warin asked directly, no reason not to be.

The man nodded to Dagrun's response, and for now, he could only wait for the other trainer's Wingull to return.
Back to the flying Pokemon, Taillow had been resting its wings as much as it could before flying again. Suddenly, it noticed a Wingull landed on a nearby branch, and began talking to it. The Taillow listened and replied, sighing from exhaustion. "Yeah, yeah, I have a trainer to get back to. Did my human find you to help find me? It's been so hot out today. My human had me chasing a news helicopter earlier about something. I wasn't that close to it, and the wind it whipped up actually felt good in a hot summer day. However, the sun was kind of blindingly bright today, and on top of the heat, I guess I got a bit tired. But the sun has never given me a burn except today?! I was flying when I suddenly felt an increase in heat and then I collapsed for a few seconds. But I regain my consciousness and flew to somewhere cooler, and I also found some Rawst Berry." The Taillow chirped non-stop to explain, and took a deep breath after its explanation.
"Anyways, I should be rested up enough now to head back. Since you're bringing me back, do you want to lead the way where my human would be now? I swear, something's off today about the weather," The Taillow shook its head and spread opened its wings, signalling that it was ready to fly whenever the WIngull was ready.

Dagrun sighed as the man simply nodded and she turned to her pokemon to wait it out, not wanting to waste more time talking sense to the man. They hadn't moved since last, Natsumi was still relaxing under the tree and Baldrian still stood beside the egg to make sure it didn't get too hot. He hadn't thought so and wondered why Warin did so much to cool it off as it felt like it was handling the heat just fine, at least as it didn't stood baking in direct sunshine. The roselia looked up at the treetop to determine when the sun would have moved the shadow enough for that to become a problem, but it didn't look like it would be anytime soon. Dagrun would sit down beside him and place a hand on the egg. "Do you think it is too hot" She aske Baldrian who shook his head and she smiled to him. "We better be sure and show Warin that we are taking good care of it though," she said and began to dig a little hole in the ground and placed the egg into it. "So, now it will get a bit of cool from the ground," she said and sat down again to wait.
Warin sighed pleased when the taillow confirmed it was missing its trainer and he quickly nodded to confirm he had been sent out to find it. He listened impatiently as it continued to chatter. He didn't care much about what had happened to it as the only thing important was his egg. With what it told him, it only further reminded him his egg was mostly unprotected and who knew if the others had any idea how to take care of it? It may have been fried already! "Yes yes, good you are rested. I'll show you the way so come on," Warin urged and hoped the taillow wouldn't be too slow. He hesitated a moment before he snatched himself a juicy berry to be sure he wouldn't get a heatstroke or something on their return trip and then took to the sky. "Are you coming? It is this way, follow me," he called and would fly as it was possible without loosing the taillow. As they flew he could relax a bit as they were on their way, and he could think about what the taillow had said about the weather. "It sure is hot today I agree with that, but how do you think it is off?" He asked the taillow curiously.

The Taillow nodded at the Wingull, and after taking a deep breath, began flying behind the other bird. Upon seeing the part water type snagged another berry from the bush, the navy colored bird too, grabbed a berry and held it close with its talons, but also making sure to not squeeze the poor berry into juice. Then, the bird seemed to realize that the Wingull was actually listening to him! He cawed in a puzzled tone as he replied. "Usually, when it's hot outside, it's alright. But today, the sun seemed to be shimmering brighter than usual, or maybe my eyes are just being fuzzy today from the heat. And normally when I fly in the hot summer heat, I don't get a burn, okay? But today, something got my feathers and skin really burnt. I have no idea what. Also like, in the middle of flying today, there was a part when the air suddenly got hot really fast, and that was when I passed out. No, there wasn't factories nearby or a volcano. The air just went up in temperature suddenly."When they got back to the trainers, Alexander was joyous to see that his Taillow had returned, although with a burnt injury, and a Rawst Berry in his talon. "Thank you very much, Dagrun! Thank you and your Wingull for finding my Taillow! Here, I have some treat that your Wingull might like. It's good for Pokemon in the flying egg group." He handed some packages of food toward the trainer, and then thanked her once more. "Hey, I will be going to the Pokemon Center now, to get my Pokemon treated with a professional. I'll be careful with the outdoor if I were you. I think i'll rather have my Pokemon healthy than roasted in this heat." He warned before he departed, but now who's going to stop Dagrun from exploring on her own, now that she's alone in the woods again. Warin gained +15 happiness from finding Taillow and the treats 400 words added to egg, sorry for delay lol

Warin listened with half an ear to what taillow could tell him, and found it weird. He was used to the weather in the region, he wasn't a new hatchling himself and know how it usually was, but what the other flying type could tell sounded different. It talked too much and Warin wasn't very talkative, he preferred when only the necessary was said, and the taillow sure were glad for chitchat. "It sounds unusual, though I haven't experienced anything out of the ordinary today. Though I admit it is a strong heatwave," was Warin's only answer, and he was quiet for the rest of the trip. His first task was to check up on his egg and he landed directly beside it and immediately investigated it. He liked what he saw, Dagrun and the others had taken good care of it while he was gone. It was good to know they took it seriously. He accepted the treat with pleasure and felt he more than deserved it for going out in a heat like this while the others could relax in the shade. He laid down beside his egg and enjoyed what he had been giving.
"Thank you, I'm glad I could help," Dagrun said kindly and thought to herself that it was the only right thing Alexander could do, he could clearly not take care of himself out in the wilderness. "I will be careful, take care!" She greeted as the other trainer left and she sighed. She would be fine, she had brought water so there should be more than just a little heat to shake her.
The midday was too hot to explore the area though, so Dagrun settled with her pokemon below the tree to wait for hopefully a bit cooler temperature later that day. If the heat kept as strong as ever, Dagrun would worry and she would set out to see if she could find the reason, staying in the shade as much as possible. If the temperature dropped a bit as expected, she would lead her pokemon on a general exploration in the area.

After the Taillow trainer was gone, everything was quiet and exceedingly hot again. Even the air was hot and it made one sweat or made one's face greasy with sweat. The sky didn't look much better either, it was as if the clouds weren't enough to block the sun or rain down to cool the earth, what a tease.
Just when it was quiet, Dagrun or one of her Pokemon would have spotted a human figure, or human looking figure, running through in the background. Or maybe the human thing was riding a Pokemon because it would be obviously too hot to run. A few moments later, a loud screech could be heard in the sky. And then another screech that sounded like it was a little further away. (Not the Pokemon move Screech.) Well, this confirmed that something certainly was going on. Now, was that a screech calling for help or just in pain from the heat?

The heat made Dagrun and her pokemon stay in the shade and even there it was actually too hot. It didn't seem like it was getting any colder and they moves as little as possible, even Baldrian seemed to think it was a bit too much. He was still the most aware and it was him who noticed the figure running about, and he quickly pointed it out to Dagrun. "Who is stupid enough to run around in this heat?" She said confused and were more interested in knowing if the figure had been running for something or not. She couldn't get any other idea than it was something really scary for someone to actually ran that fast in a weather like this. Then the screeches were heard and they all looked in that direction, trying to spot something, or in some other way get an idea what was going on. "That didn't sound like a human," Dagrun said and sighed, "we better check it out."They moved warily through the shadows, staying out of the strong sunlight, towards where the sounds had been coming from. Dagrun was carrying the egg in her arms, while Warin were sitting on her shoulder and Baldrian walked at her heel. Natsumi had refused to move from the shadow, so she had been recalled inot her pokeball. (ooc: no worries
