"I don't really know, I was just told to keep the area clear of people and take in any injured Pokemon," The ranger lied, though possibly lying, as the ranger was outside much longer than anyone had been, they had to saw something.
Fly used Water Sport, temporarily moistening the area with water, which would hopefully keep the area from burning, until they evaporated. Some of the wild Pokemon sighed a small relief from the water cooling them barely, but then made a sad face again after the impending heat resumed.
"Thanks for the Water Sport, but it's alright. It's not the problem with water, and plus, it would tire out your Pokemon quickly, even in this heat. For now the best course of action would be to move Pokemon away from highly dried lumber and keep them in shade." the Ranger replied, and hugging an Oddish on his arm. The grass type look worn out.
Suddenly, the sky gave out another Screech. Even though the Pokemon might have been used to it by now, some of them still ducked for cover. However, the ranger was distracted and looked at the sky. There wasn't anything there. Instead, slightly covered by the trees was the human figure in odd clothing moving again, and following behind him was a seemingly evolved Pokemon.

Mirella didn't feel comfortable with the situation at all. The ranger's behaviour and advice didn't help either. It was frustrating getting told that her water Pokemon wouldn't be able to provide enough water for this and would only tire out instead. Of course she didn't want her Pokemon to dehydrate in this weather but it was disheartening that the only help they could manage was to move Pokemon around. It seemed so lackluster an effort. Despite her own feelings about it, Mirella did try to do as he had suggested, and walked around the area to see if any Pokemon was in need. The screech from the sky made Mirella jump like it did some of the Pokemon. That was another reason for her discomfort. It was very rattling with all the sounds without knowing the source exactly. She had moved some metres away from the ranger in her help effort and looked in his direction to check his own response. He was looking to the sky again. Maybe he was checking for more fire attacks from that direction. He didn't seem to notice the movement of a figure between the trees, and Mirella frowned at it. Was that the same she had seen before? Without really thinking about it, she called Fly back in her ball. Mirella was tired of not knowing what was going on. She would pursue the figure and see what this was about, and she didn't really need Fly beside her for the chase. She could always call a Pokemon out later again if needed. They were probably safer in their balls as it was. So she followed the figure to the best of her efforts, hoping to keep it in eyesight. (Wordcount: 287)

Trying to catch up the pace of the moving figure and the evolved Pokemon under this strange heat, it was as if the human figure had magic ability to resist such heat. Sometimes she'll see a glimpse of the human, and then the evolved Pokemon. The human was probably riding another Pokemon to be moving at such a speed. The Pokemon following behind it, seemed to be floating, as Mirella sometimes could catch a drift of the fainting wind from the Pokemon. If the trees weren't this thick, she might be able to see it.
Suddenly, the loud screech echoed through the sky again, this time louder, and clearer. Following that screech was a sudden increase of heat, and then it died again. Then, something made an alien but also mechanical sound, and a couple bright flashes up ahead. (Thankfully, it wasn't as harmful as looking at the sun directly, a more subtle, mild bright flashes.) Whatever was up ahead, perhaps this was the cause of this weird weather. If Mirella was curious enough, she would unravel the next part of the mystery.
OOC: getting close to climax story, like next post also this OOC is to remind myself tbh sorry for short post this time.

Mirella tailed the odd human and their Pokemon with a beating heart, continuously unsure if she was doing the right thing. Somehow she managed to keep her speed high enough not to lose sight of them completely, but she never got close enough to determine what they were, and how they were going so fast. Mirella almost dropped to the ground in fright, when another screech erupted out of nowhere. Instead she steadied herself by a trunk as the spike of heat subsided once more, and she gathered her breath feeling her lungs burn from the exercise. She looked ahead, afraid she had finally lost sight of the figures, and instead heard an odd metallic sound and saw flashes of light between the greenery. She stumbled on, determined to find out what it was, but trying to use the foliage around her as cover. She wasn't comfortable with the idea of being spotted before she knew what was happening. As Mirella follow the chase, she came upon a clearing inside the forest that probably nobody had been to, or if they did, did not tell anyone. Inside the clearing was the legendary Pokemon, Moltres. The Pokemon was basically a giant flying bird with long, sharp beak, feathers that looked like fire growing out of its crown and wings, or maybe it's actually fire. The rest of the body was yellow or orange, depending your ability to perceive colors. Across the Pokemon was a rather strange creature that was certainly not a Pokemon. A slim and tall, black wiring humanoid but even less humanoid than the Pokemon Machamp and Gothetelle. Whatever it was, Moltres was facing it. The fire type was likely the source of sudden heat, and the weird creature was likely the thing making metallic sound.
Not far next to Mirella, standing bold and tall in front of the foliage, was the man she was pursuing. He was wearing some coat that might be heat resistant, or his body somehow can handle all these heat. Next to him was a floating Flygon, and if he was riding a Pokemon to get here, he might have returned it already.
Without shifting his face away from Moltres and the opponent, he seemed to have spotted Mirella hiding in here. He confidently asked, "So, what brought you out here in the woods today?"

Mirella had to rub her eyes in disbelief, when she finally saw what was in the clearing. The heat had to be getting to her. There was no way some legendary Pokemon, she had only ever seen on paper, was right in front of her. But then she couldn't have imagined the play of colour in the bird's plumage, if that even was the right word. The giant thing looked more to be clad in fire, and Mirella certainly didn't have the imagination to make that up, no matter how derailed she had gotten in the heat. She swallowed and almost didn't see the stranger creature standing across from the fire bird. She had never heard about anything like it before, and had half a mind to think of it as some robot project of humans, before her thoughts was interrupted by a voice closer to her than expected. She had gotten so distracted by the Legendary and its' adversary, she hadn't even seen the human figure she had been following in the first place. She turned her head startled, both surprised at the proximity and being discovered already. Apparently she wasn't very good at hiding. Or the human wasn't talking to her, but she couldn't see anyone else but the two of them and the fighting pair. A thought popped into her head, and instead of answering she asked one of her own in a high whisper, however strange it was: "Did you make that robot thingy fighting with the legend bird of fire?" She felt like a child not being able to remember the name of the legendary, but she crushed the sense of shame and stared right at his face, to better read his reactions. He was understandable more occupied with the fighting duo, and Mirella reminded herself she needed to watch their moves too, so she wouldn't be caught by surprise. Whether he answered or not, or simply persisted his own question to her reason for being there, Mirella would feel slightly defensive about it. "I could ask you the same," she would start a bit sullen. "I was trying to prevent the wild life out here to take more damage than they already have, but that's a bit difficult when you don't know the reason for the trouble in the first place. But what about you here?" she went on, her voice raising a bit in pitch, as she got over her sour mood at being 'caught'. "What are you doing?"(Wordcount: 416)

The man snickered at Mirella's description of the two creatures, and then replied. "Moltres? You've never seen Moltres in a children's book before? Or a museum?" he joked. He could sense the nervousness and awe of the other human, but for someone like him, this wasn't his first legendary. "And that robot thing you called? I think they called it Xurkitree. It's technically not a robot. Heck, it's probably not even from this planet."
Before he could say more, the Moltres and the Xurkitree collided with another electric and fire attacks. As they are in close range this time, it created an explosion and smoke, which took the man's Flygon a couple seconds to flap at the wind to clear out.
"I see, a good, humanitarian act you're doing. I hope the wild Pokemon will remember you in the future." He continued, and dramatically paused to watch the two giant Pokemon. "I am sent here to investigate what's going on with the Xurkitree. We don't really have an interest in the Moltres. We're just as curious as you are, and it seemed like the Moltres was trying to defend from the Xurkitree. The two could have started battling from somewhere else and landed here, as I am told. That on and off heat you have been feeling is probably from Moltres. I have been chasing them ever since this 'heat wave' started now."

"Just because I don't remember it's name, doesn't mean I haven't seen it before." Mirella mumbled sullenly, when the man snickered at her. She didn't really mean to let him hear and let the joke slide by ignored, though she kept her eyes downcast in embarrassment. She listened all the more intend to his following explanation, and repeated the strange name Xurkitree to herself before commenting: "Doesn't look much like a tree to me." She gave the thing another once-over, but didn't feel more enlightened by it, and the next moment she had to cover her face to protect it from the smoky explosion, as the battle wore on. First, when the Flygon had cleared the air again, could she see again, and she decided to keep her attention on the guy instead. Now that she knew who was making all the ruckus she more felt like slinking back and disappearing again. This was too big for her to handle, but was anyone doing anything else than watching? "Who are 'we'?" she asked, catching on to the one lacking information in the guy's tale. "And do you plan on doing anything to help Moltres get the Alien away from here, since it obviously doesn't belong?" She gave him a judging look. She couldn't tell from his words, what his or 'their' plan was, and therefor she added for good measure: "What's the point of following it around, if not to do something about it?"(Wordcount: 244)

"Heehee," the man chuckled, then switched back to his serious tone of voice.
"I got so used to these situation, I thought i'll lighten it up for you. I am sorry if that lighthearted crack was terrible." He apologized.
"I wasn't in charge of naming it, but it looked like a couple wires dangling like a bare tree, I guess. There's no leaves coming out of those wires, but a lot of electricity." He replied to the other comment, verbally shrugging.
"Oh yeah, 'we' are a small group of people working for the Hoenn government officials, but we're also part of scientific community. We're more like the bridge between the two, to be honest. The scientists do their researches in the field or the lab, and the government makes their decision or crisis management decisions. We just help to get to the scene of weird stuff that happened before everyone else, or try to get there before anyone else." He explained the first part, while keeping his head still, staring straight ahead. When you're not sure what you're facing, it's hard to look away from the Xurkitree.
"Hmm, we do indeed plan on helping Moltres out, except it was flying around to dodge the Xurkitree, and I have been looking for an opportunity to pin this thing down. And this looked like a great opening for us. Now don't ask me how does this Xurkitree chase around Moltres so fast. It probably can jump and run equally fast. After encountering these creatures a few times previously and researching about them, the scientist gave me this ball to capture it. How does that sound to you?" He replied, finishing his last sentence as stern and as clear as he can.

Mirella became unsure if she had been wrong to question the guy with how stern he suddenly sounded, especially at the end of his long explanation. No matter how efficient he made the different parts of the governing units sound, she couldn't help but think of the typical bureaucracy with its weird limits and slow working process. Now that she thought about it she was probably the one halting the process right now just by being here and asking stupid questions. "Oh," she managed to get out at the end of his spiel. She glanced at the two giant creatures, still feeling a tremendous want to just back off and disappear. "Will it need to be weakened like ordinary Pokemon before you can use that ball?" she asked carefully. "and haven't you got anyone to help you? It's quite a beast to take on alone." She had no idea, where she was going with her questions now, but somehow they kept popping out of her mouth. Her feet was already moving of their own accord pulling her ever so slowly back, and unless the guy asked her or told her otherwise, she would be leaving him to his duty within minutes. "I would like to weaken it and capture this creature for the scientist. In fact, they gave me this capture ball after 'an event' that happened recently. But for now, I have been trying to catch the attention of the Xurkitree, but it seemed to be really focus on the Moltres." He explained, in a calm and cool-headed manner.
"Hm, other people to help? The rest of my crew seemed to be helping with the widespread heatwave, and the mess of this situation. The rest of my Pokemon were defeated trying to take down this gang of Pokemon poacher trying to capture Moltres, but I think my Flygon would be okay to handle this foreign creature. An electric pulse still wouldn't do a thing to my Flygon," He responded, turning his head a bit toward Mirella, and then back to the two giants fighting.
He paused for a bit, and the Moltres screeched loudly at the opponent. Then, he folded his hands and thought for a quick minute. "I doubt you have strong Pokemon on your hands, but do you think you could help me create a distraction to 'switch in' with the Moltres?" It was probably a ridiculous idea coming from a supposed government agent himself, but he was trying his luck here.

Mirella had already backed a couple of steps away, when he explained what had happened to the different teams helping out. So he was short of help. She stopped her backtracking with reluctance, and pondered his question seriously. With a bit of hesitance she pulled out three of her Pokeballs. "I have a Barboach who knows Mud sport. The electricity shouldn't be able to touch him. The other two is a Poochyena and Goomy. Aleksi, the pooch, could try to blind it with Sand Attack and Tse'ri, the Goomy, can hopefully protect us a bit with her Protect. Will that be enough?" If he gave a positive response she tried to let them out while hopefully hiding the worst of the flash from the balls in the foliage. She explained the situation carefully to all three, and as Tse'ri heard the plan she tried to soak a small area of earth with her bubbles, so Whiskas would have something muddy to work with. When Whiskas understood what she was doing he helped her out with his own water gun. "Just tell me where and when to make the distraction. We'll do it at your signal." Mirella said, and they all waited politely, and with baited breath for his 'go'. (Wordcount: 209)

He thought for a bit, literally doing a thinking pose with his hands. He then continued, "I don't know how many Pokemon your Poochyena could carry to help them get close, but we just need to distract the Xurkitree a bit."
"Based on what you have told me, here is a strategy we can use." He began with his own idea. "Have Barboach Mud Sport both himself and Poochyena, and while they're charging up their next move, and therefore will cause another smokey explosion, the Poochyena runs toward them with the Barboach holding on somehow..." He paused, thinking about a slimy fish holding on to a fast moving canine. "The Mud Sport should weaken the electric attack. Then, have Poochyena Sand Attack or just fling any sand to shift the Xurkitree's attention. My Flygon should be able to swoop in fast enough if it does any funny electric moves. It's also big enough. While your Pokemon were running, I'll have Flygon give Moltres a quick chat to hold up the fire attacks." There was a moment that he wondered if this would be a great plan, after he had finished his theory, but it sounded okay on paper for now.

Mirella almost interjected with why on earth Aleksi would need to carry anyone, but kept her mouth shut to listen him through to the end. She gnawed her lip in worry, not liking that her small inexperienced gang would need to get closer than they already were, but she had accepted to help, so there was no pulling back now, and other than the closer part, his idea sounded doable if risky. "Are you sure Whiskas will need to follow Aleksi in there?" She asked unsure. "I mean, what help will he be, when he is done covering her in mud?" It was Whiskas who answered, having listened to their planning, and he made a jump for show while spitting a couple of mud balls into the air. Mirella understood his point. "I see. Of course you can throw mud too. You sure you want to do this?" she asked Aleksi and Whiskas directly. Aleksi wagged her tail, sending a small splatter of dirt flying, as she had already rolled herself in the mud Whiskas and Tse'ri had provided. Whiskas made his nod, and Mirella sighed in acceptance. "Alright, but how..." This time she didn't even get to finish her question. Aleksi stood up and grabbed Whiskas by the neck. Whiskas wriggled a bit, but seemed to settle with the treatment, and Aleksi looked mighty proud of herself. Mirella winced, but forced a smile in the end. "I guess that works." She looked at the two, ready to run into the fray at a moment's notice, and then at the agent. "I think that's as ready as we're going to get."(Wordcount: 271)

The agent stealthily observed the other trainer's Pokemon making their preparation. For a moment, he thought he forget to think the plan thoroughly, but when he saw the Poochyena gently holding onto the Barboach with its mouth, he mentally sighed a breath of relief.
"Your Barboach can help draw a loose electricity or two, if there were any, but I'm not taking any chances," he explained, smirking. "I guess I'm lucky you have a ground type to help out. Since both of us lack status moves, we're jsut creating diversion by confusing the opponent."
Just he was finished speaking, the fire flying giant screeched and intensify the heat around it, and the Xurkitree visibly charged up electricity around its body. The agent wasted no time, and hollered a "Now!", and turned his head at Mirella directly. His Flygon cried and bolted up in the sky, at a height just enough to avoid the damage, but to swoop down after the incoming fire-and-electricity explosion smoke was created, but in the mean time, it would need coordination for the Xurkitree to shift its aim or attention just for a second, even if to create a confusion on who was its opponent. The two giant Pokemon could swap their attacks any seconds now.
