Hulda watched the zigzagoon closely as it tasted her food once more, that was enough for her to take it as its confirmation as that had been her deal. Food for capture. It made a happy sound and made a weird movement with its tail and looked like it was saying something Otieno, but Hulda didn't have time for that. The zigzagoon barely finished yawning the second time before she tapped it with a pokeball and stood up before it even confirmed the capture. She looked at the sky, she should still be able to get a good chunk of the way and she gestured for her nincada to follow as she continued.
Otieno had been really disappointed when the zigzagoon decided to take the food instead of battling him, even though it was against Hulda's wishes. In his opinion the zigzagoon would soon be as round as a jigglypuff if all it wanted to do was eat, it didn't seem clever enough to grab the chance of some fun battling. He followed Hulda quietly and was alert, mostly in the hope that something else would happen.

After befriending the Zigzagoon with a taste of delicious human food, the normal type had been captured by the ninja without much of a battle, much to the Nincada's disappointment. Continuing their path toward Rustboro City, they had encountered one last Pokemon before they would reach Verdanturf Town and then the Rusturf Tunnel and Rustboro City. The last Pokemon that the two had encountered was a peculiar looking Budew, who was awake late at night bouncing and sipping off dew drops that were formed on the leaves of bushes and flowers. Sipping off the morning dew, the young seed Pokemon did not detect that Otieno and Hulda were nearby. It was having such a good morning drink before the other Pokemon, that it did not pay attention to its surrounding.
A Level 5 Shiny Budew appeared! It has no egg move and hidden ability. OOC: Finally rolled a shiny! Last one before Rustuboro City. Actually, after this one just RP your character to Rustboro City, and then RP your character in the next location that your character would explore. I was gonna roll between Route 116 and Route 117, but the result at route 116 would be a shiny Nincada instead so this Budew would do.and uh, I reduced the price for the food and refunded some money back.

Hulda hurried on, she had wasted too much time on the zigzagoon in her opinion and she really hoped it would prove to be worth it. She knew what this kind of pokemon were able to do and she had betted all her food that this one was what she needed, though going hungry wasn't a problem for herself. She hurried through the route, often glancing at the sky which slowly lost its stars as it got lighter. The day was closing in. Suddenly she noticed she was alone and she paused to look for Otieno, who had disappeared. She cursed silently and started to go back looking for him, and quickly found him under a bush where he was seeking cover for the light. He wasn't hiding for her, so he made sure she found him when she got closer, but he refused to go out into the light. It was still not a problem to his skin, but it would soon be and he preferred to play it safe and hide early instead of finding some last minute cover that may not would be enough for the whole day. Hulda sighed annoyed as she failed to get Otieno out from his cover, and looked at the sky. She wouldn't get further today it seemed and she better prepare change clothes and continue out on the road, though it would go slower for her. She paused a moment when she saw a thirsty budew walk around, drinking morning dew. The day had arrived much faster than she had preffered. The budew would be a perfect match for her though and she found her single Quick Ball, which she looped at it from the shadows. She barely paid it any attention other than if she hit it with the ball, as she was sure it would capture it. She could of course have approached it and captured it with a battle, but this was faster and she had wasted enough time in her night. She rummaged through her bag and pulled out some clothes. (ooc: Throws a Quick Ball on the budew. Since Otieno is the only one out, he is getting the xp, I haven't written it in, as the catch rate says I have a 100% chance of capturing the budew with the Quick Ball )

Drinking the morning dew and not paying attention, the Budew was suddenly warped into a capture device, thrown by Dagrun in the shadow. The young grass type Pokemon had no idea that its dawn would turn into this. The area was quiet briefly as the Budew wasn't out jumping, shaking leaves, and drinking dew. Then, a soft Ding! had signaled the success of the capture. The Pokemon was captured without a struggle. Now the route would be quiet from this hopping Budew. As the sun came up, it could be seen that the Verdanturf Town was around the corner, and through the Rusturf Tunnel would be Rustboro City, perhaps the ninja could take a rest in the city or continue through the short tunnel toward her destination.

Hulda was pleased when she heard the ding and she hang the clothes she had found on a branch and looked around the area, to be sure no-one would see her, before she moved out from the shadows and collected the pokeball. She returned and recalled Otieno before she changed and left the Hulda personality in her bag with the ninjadisguise. She rolled her shoulders and walked out into the open and walked a bit, before she paused to first let out the zigzagoon and after having greeted her she called out the newly captured budew. Both were a bit surprised to see her since she didn't look like Hulda at all, in her colorful dress and loose hanging hair and friendly smile. The budew was just unsure about what had happened. Dagrun made sure she didn't say anything that hinted she could be the one who had caught them, and instead presented herself in a way so it sounded like she had got them in other ways, without directly lying. Of course she didn't know if she really succeeded. She gave the two some nicknames and cheerfully gestured for them to come along, on her way towards Rustboro. The two followed a bit puzzled by the whole situation, but were chatting with each other, which pleased Dagrun as well. The trip continued without any further interesting happenings and soon they arrived at Rustboro. Dagrun wanted to take a look around as it had been a long time since she had been here last, and she went down the first and best street and tried to rebuild her mentally map of the city. Walking around Rustboro City, the ninja found herself walking on a street with the city park on one side, and the usual road infrastructures and buildings on the other side. Walking casually to rebuild her mental map of the city, the development of the city was a balance between nature and human activities. Some business suited people were having a coffee on a picnic table in the park, and some stay at home parents with their kids were playing. There were also some elderly people who were actively walking with their Pokemon, such as Poochyena and Skitty. Right in front of Dagrun was a Scatterbug who had been attracted to the smell of melted ice cream on the floor. Crawling with such a quick speed, the Pokemon inched closed to the sidewalk, leaving the arbitrary boundaries of the park and then stepped into the sidewalk. Sniffing the sugary confection at first, the curious Scatterbug flicked out its tongue and tasted it. Although it was melted, it was still cold enough for the young Pokemon. It stood frozen for a bit as the cool substance sent shock to its body.

Dagrun looked pleased around, happy to finaly having arrived. Natsumi looked around a bit bored to begin with as this was a city like the one she had left and she was still full from all the food Hulda had stuffed her with. Baldrian was a bit more uncertain of it all, as sometimes humans acted weird and got all excited when they saw him, while in others they just didn't paid him any attention. He wasn't really aware that his colors were different from other budews and he found the unpredictable reactions towards him unnerving. Until now things were quiet though and the two pokemon followed their new trainer with little trouble.
It went easy for Dagrun to fill in the missing parts of her mental map over the city, and other than placing shops and cafés in their rightfully place and noting where there were new ones and what they were all called, she had little interest in them. She was not here on a pleasure business, as Dagrun she was here as a pokemon trainer and her goal was to be strong enough to eventually challenge the Champion. It was a nice cover and it was a thrilling challenge that only made her mission and stay here, much more enjoyable.
As any other city, there were trash and even though Natsumi wasn't hungry, the smell of the melting icecream was too tempting. She inched her way past Dagrun who had paused to look at a scatterbug that carefully made its way out onto the sidewalk. Natsumi took a quik step sideways when the scatterbug suddenly appeared and reached the icecream first. She then spun around and leaped up the wall and jumped down towards the scatterbug. Her goal was mostly to scare the bug to leave the icecream to her, but it was hard to aim so there were quite a risk of her hitting her target as well.
Dagrun waited for Natsumi to make her move and recalled her before she got a chance to taste the icecream. The zigzagoon had got more than enough of her fair share of food and she wasn't interested in an active pokemon with a suger rush. Instead she let out her numel, which made Baldrian take several steps backwards to be in a safe distance from the hot pokemon. "Fiera, try growl a bit of it," Dagrun asked the volcano pokemon, that looked anything but interested in battling. The numel yawned and snorted with a shake of its head, sending a few embers in the scatterbug's general direction. Then she just stared blankly ahead.
(ooc: Natsumi using Rock Climb and then switched for Fiera who uses Ember.)

The Scatterbug wasn't the only one who had found the melted ice cream! In front of it was a Zigzagoon, who behaved much differently than wild ones, meaning that it had a trainer behind it! Soon enough, the ninja in civilian clothing had appeared. However, when the bug turned to look at the human, the Zigzagoon had scaled up a wall or concrete, and then slammed hard onto the bug Pokemon. It was angry that it got attacked, and then released a cloud of purple powder that made Natsumi very sick, thankfully, the normal Pokemon was returned back to the Pokeball for recovering. Then, the fire type was sent out, and the Scatterbug was protective about its ice cream, and therefore sent another cloud of purple powder to make the Numel feel really sick. However, even a little poison could not bother the Numel that much. The fire type opened her mouth and fired a volley of ember, and the flames were enough to make the Scatterbug fainted, and melt the ice cream to a puddle.
Turn 1: Natsumi used Rock Climb! Scatterbug HP: 8/12 It used Poison Powder, Natsumi is poisoned!
Turn 2: Natsumi is switched for FIera It used Poison Powder, Fiera is poisoned! Scatterbug HP: 8/12 Fiera HP: 19/22
Turn 3: Fiera used Ember! Scatterbug fainted!
Natsumi gained 1 level from participation, now level 6! Happiness +10! Pick Up didn't find anything! Fiera gained 3 levels from defeating Scatterbug, now level 8! She learned Focus Energy! Happiness +10! OOC: Since it's 3 turns KO I'm gonna be lazy about showing the table.

"Impressive," Dagrun said pleased with Natsumi's skills and gumption, though she frowned when Fiera didn't do as told. It was effective and it was rather disappointing how little challenge the bug type had been able to give them. Dagrun had seen them as much more resourceful, bug types were often popular among her ninja friends, but this one had not even tried anything new, when facing another opponent. "You need to listen to what I'm saying," Dagrun told the numel, who just stared blankly ahead of her, so Dagrun picked up the scatterbug and crouched to be at the same level as Fiera. Even though she got eye contact, the returned look were rather dull and unfocused. "Do you understand what I'm saying to you?" No reaction. Dagrun sighed and recalled the numel. "Come on," She said to Baldrian and they continued their tour around the city, moving towards the outskirts and Route 115.

OOC: quest completed You have two cows! Continuing her way toward Route 115, Dagrun went north of Rustboro City for whatever reason she had wanted, such as finding more information about this region. As she traveled up north, the seaside route was a bit unusual, especially if you go through this route a lot. A newcomer like Dagrun would't know, but it seemed to be the mating season or traveling season of some Pokemon like Cleffa and Misdreavus, where they leave their comfort zone to go further in the route, bumping into trainers that they don't usually see. One such Pokemon was a screaming Misdreavus, who usually sent trainers away with its awful noise instead of welcoming them. When it saw Dagrun walking by, it let out a loud Screech then seemed to be powerful enough to move leaves around the area, shaking the plants with its strange power of voice. That, or a wind just happened to breezed by in the right direction. It watched carefully as the trainer reacted.

Dagrun knew little of the region and the habits of the pokemon living here, but the misdreavus was quick to give itself away by screeching at passerbys. She was still quite a distance away so she pretended to not having noticed, even though both Natsumi and Baldrian looked towards the sound curiously. It was good to know her pokemon were alert even though they weren't trained as much as her ninja team.
As Dagrun passed it, taking care to look blisfully unaware, the ghost attempted to scare her by screaming at her. Baldrian looked startled at the misdreavus, while Natsumi just looked at it with mild interest. Dagrun jumped and screamed from pretended shock. "Help me! Do something!" She cried to her pokemon, who looked surprised at her, hadn't she heard it earlier? Were human ears so bad? Natsumi shrugged and stepped towards the screeching pokemon while Dagrun took a closer look at it and instantly decided it was one she needed on Hulda's team. "It's a ghost," she murmured nervously and looked at the zigzagoon, pretending to try remember something important. "Oh! Natsumi, come back here. You can't do any harm to it. Baldrian has to take care of this one," she called out and looked down at the budew beside her, "alright?" She asked him. He grinned reassuringly up to her and switched place with Natsumi who sat down beside Dagrun. The budew started to glow a faint green and grew a bit in size before he attempted to draw energy from the ghost in the bush.

After giving a closer look at the ghost Pokemon that came out of nowhere, Dagrun had decided that this Pokemon's ghostly appearance would be a perfect match for her team. Now, all she needed to do was just weaken this Pokemon. Initially, the Zigzagoon was going to accept the ghost Pokemon's challenge, but after closer examination, Natsumi was swapped out for the newly caught Budew. Then, the Budew went to work by growing itself a little bigger and then using an absorb attack. On the other hand, while the Budew was swapping in for Natsumi and growing bigger in size, the Misdreavus countered with two distinctive sound. One was the earlier wailing sound that was painful for the ear and also creepy. The other is a shorter, more aggressive growl that other Pokemon seemed to possess, and Baldrian could felt his physical strength weakened from that attacked. Then, the Misdreacus attacked with a Psywave attack, that made the Budew's head a little painful but it wasn't like a squishy feeling. He stood dazed for a few seconds while grumbling the pain. Then, he returned attack by trying to drain the Misdreavus's energy. Surprisingly, he felt just about the same refreshed. Maybe that ghost don't have much energy to drain!

Where Dagrun flinched at the misdraveus two other threatening sounds, Baldrian seemed rather unfaced. He glanced back at his nervous trainer and wondered why she was so nervous for the ghost, it was just a pokemon after all. He didn't know her well as he had just met her, but she had seemed nice until now, and he was willing to help her gain more confidence in battling. She would need that if she scared this easily. He didn't expect he really needed to protect her, since wild pokemon rarely attacked humans directly, not with his kowledge at least.
Dagrun was a bit disgruntled she had to pretend to be another to her own pokemon, her own team, but she couldn't risk her mission. They would help her more by not knowing and help keep up her disguise. She calculated how the battle went, hiding it well behind nervous eyes. "Perhaps you should be bigger? Maybe that will scare it off," Dagrun suggested meekly.
Baldrian nodded his agreement, another growth would be a good thing. Not because he thought he could scare off the ghost by getting bigger, but they were surely equally in strength and perhaps it could give him a bit of an advantage. As long as he got enough energy back to last the longest it would be fine. He grew a bit in size and used a couple of more absorbs to get more energy.

Growing a bit bigger in size, Baldrian was wondering if the size advantage would helped him to get a bit more advantageous in this battle. The grass type then proceeded to attack again, absorbing whatever life that the ghost type Pokemon seemed to have. Though the Budew was quite healthy enough already, and any absorb he did was just keeping his healthy stamina at tip top shape. The Misdreavus didn't really attack with the bizarre multi colored attack known as Psybeam again, and instead made some more variations of the earlier noises. While the sound attack startled the grass type, they weren't really weakening him, as he was no where close to collapsing. Maybe this ghost was just a childish wailing floater, with nothing better to do than make noise all night.. and day.

Dagrun held her ears as the misdreavus continued to be noicy. She wondered for a moment if that was all it usually did since that would be a problem for a stealth focused Hulda. She was willing to take the chance and see if she could train it to be useful for her. She was aware that ghosts often liked to play with their targets and that it could be useful but also tricky to try train them in the way of the ninja. Her village had plenty of stories about ghost trainers which both were legends with their special pokemon and had warnings about the troubles it gave. Baldrian felt great! He didn't doubt that he would win this battle easily and he hoped it would help Dagrun to see that there was nothing to worry about. Dagrun frowned a bit at the ghost that floated around like nothing had changed, but it must have been affected by the loss of energi. It was clear on Baldrian that it had worked splendid so why didn't it act tired? She rolled the pokeball, she had got from her back, around in her hand while looking at the misdreavus thoughtfully. She decided she didn't dared to let Baldrian attack it again, she wouldn't risk it disappearing into the ground or something similar stupid, because it got too weak. Hopefully it was enough for the pokemon to capture it despite resistanse that you could expect. Baldrian and Natsumi looked suprised at the pokeball Dagrun skillfully looped towards the ghost. If the first one didn't use, she would try a couple of more. (ooc: I think there is some problem with Baldrians HP in the last post? It looks weird Using more pokeballs if the first doesnt' work.. let's say 3 in total so Baldrian has a chance to survive getting hit. )
