Keeping her promise to her hot-headed Corphish, the fisherman trainer sent out the water Pokemon against the bold Zigzagoon. Though the Corphish was way more eager than it would have thought. As the water Pokemon was clamping her arm making loud, ominous sounds, the Zigzagoon was a little scared and tried to run the other way! Though its speed was no match for the Corphish as she caught up, and the two danced around in circle until Caddis found an opportunity and chopped some furs off the Zigzagoon. It growled in retaliation, but Caddis wasn't going to let some furry creature's sound stop the crustacean assault. The Corphish continued slicing the furs, and maybe skin, off the Zigzagoon, giving it an impromptu haircut. When the Caddis was tired from giving the Zigzagoon a free haircut, the normal type took the opportunity to run away in defeat, shedding some furs as it went, leaving no time for the raccoon to leave tips.
Caddis gained 1 level from winning Zigzagoon! Now level 11! Happiness +10

Day one: Forest walk (Route 102) Mirella smiled, when the Zigzagoon accepted the battle, though it froze on her lips, when Caddis made short work of it. She winced as the poor creature ran off with the tail between its legs. "Sorry!" she yelled after the fleeting back, trying to make amends. "I guess you were too strong for it, Caddis," she commented when they were alone again. Caddis knocked her pincers together and made bubbles in her mouth. Something in the way the Corphish lowered her body and looked defensive, Mirella thought it looked like she was huffing. Mirella gave a short laugh. "You aren't the happy sort, I figure. Anyway, you got your fight. It was nice of you to wait this time." Mirella called her back in her ball and continued, but still she tried to prolong the trip back. She started to look for anything that could be hiding off the beaten path. Thinking back on the day, she wondered if she had actually managed to meet every kind of Pokemon living in the area. She had been extremely lucky at least twice, she knew, and she had been lenient for a trainer, she thought. The picture she had in her mind of trainers, were the ones catching everything they came across, battling everything no matter if they wanted to catch the Pokemon or not. It wasn't a picture she liked, but it couldn't be right either, because people were all different. It was more likely that there was all kinds of trainers, and she could be one of those other kind, rethinking in her own mind what a trainer was. First off, she was a fisherman and water type trainer. There was nothing left in this area to catch that fit that bill. However, Mirella knew too she could get in trouble if she didn't have a few surprises other than her beloved water types. She remembered the Poochyena from earlier in the day, and she wondered if it wouldn't be a good addition to her otherwise one sided team. The question was if she could find one again. It was getting dark, but that might be an advantage, since Poochyena were dark types and more likely to be active at night. Mirella paused and listened in the twillight. Maybe she was lucky and they would start to sing soon. She could follow the sound then. (Ooc: Last adventure on route 102. Looking for Poochyena, as Mirella has seen every Pokemon on route. As the night drew close, Mirella was trying to prolong her trip back toward the city. Going outside of her Fisherman group's stereotype, she was thinking of catching a Poochyena, such as the one she had encountered earlier. Hoping that the dark type Pokemon would help balance out her team's weaknesses, or maybe a furry friend among a sea of scaly friends wouldn't hurt, the young trainer was hoping to meet one as the sky turned dark. Listening quietly as she walked, the fisherman was trying her best to pick out cues in the grass for a Poochyena. The area was quiet for probably a couple minutes, except the sound of some distant Wurmple's evolutions flapping in the air. Soon though, a Poochyena was hungry and was rustling around behind the grasses. Carefully biting off fruits off of a bush, the dark type was careful to not let the branches poke its face, as it did not planned on the branches scratching its skin until it bleed. If Mirella follow the sound, she would be able to find what she was looking for.

Day one: Forest walk (Route 102) Mirella could have been standing there listening half the night, if nothing had happened within. Luckily, for her she picked out the rustle of something behind a small wall of grass, and she stepped carefully closer, trying not to frighten anything. Mirella breathed out slowly, when she spotted the Poochyena. She had somehow succeeded. And suddenly she was more nervous than she had been at all the other encounters of the day. This was the first one she had deliberately approached to try and capture, and she wasn't sure how to proceed. She wanted to be on good terms with the Poochyena, not fight it. "Hey," she called softly, bending down in the knees to appear smaller. She waited for it to turn and see her, keeping absolutely still. Keeping her voice calm and soothing, she then continued. "I'm hoping to make friends. Do you want to be my friend?" remembering how it had nibled at the berries on the bush, she added "I have food too."Mirella reached down in the pocket where she kept her own kind of snack, some pieces of dried meat. They were tough to chew, but carried a delicious smell. She took one piece out and waved it slowly in the air. If that drew the Poochyena closer, she would lift it out of reach with a kind laugh. "This is heavy stuff. You'll have to work for it." Should this work to enthrall it further Mirella would get up, making it jump around after the piece of meat held just out of reach, until she deemed it panting enough from the exercise, no more than a minute. Then she would let it snatch the piece out of her hand. "Care for more?" She asked, a bit breathless herself. She was curious, if it had convinced it to join her, but otherwise she could spare a piece more, if it was really hungry. (Ooc: Trying to make the Poochyena play work for a Packaged Food item. Hearing a human voice, the canine turned around and returned a bark, but did not move much yet. It listened and observed the human as she moved, and it noticed something better than berries showing up from the human's bag. It sniffed the air as the wrapper was torn and peeled down, revealing an odor of something that smelled as meaty as some carcass of a Pokemon. Hmm... this actually seemed interesting so far. The Pokemon was attracted to the smell, and followed the human's hand as she played with it for a bit, jumping up and down trying to reach the tasty treat, and being pulled down by the constraint of gravity. When it was tired and don't felt like hopping up again, it yipped softly and looked at Mirella curiously to see if she'll actually give it the food. She better be, as those teeth are deadly.

End of Day one: Forest walk (Route 102) Mirella smiled at the eagerness with which the Poochyena tried to get at the dried meat. It made her think it had the right amount of energy to be a good defender for her on land. It would probably challenge her to move more than was common for her, but in the long run that would be a good thing. When it was finally winded down, she gave it the meat off-handedly and waited for it to finish up, before trying to pet it carefully. At first it hesitated, but then it accepted her out-stretched hand and let her scratch the ear. The fur was ruff between her fingers, which surprised her. She had to dig into the fur to get to the softer underfur, and the action made the Poochyena growl in pleasure and drop to ground on top of her hand. Mirella gigled. Maybe the Pooch had never been scratched good before. She scratched it further, going down along its back and round its belly, ready to pull back if it wasn't ready to give in completely. Mirella had a great respect for those teeth, and it snapped a bit after her fingers too, but it mostly seemed playful and asking for more. In the end Mirella spend some minutes rubbing the Pooch all over, before catching it in a ball without a hitch. Time to get back and catch some sleep, before the new day. Wordcount: 240 Day Four: RustboroMirella walked the streets of Rustboro in the afternoon. The visit at her father's had been short. He had been surprised of course, since she hadn't given any warning. It had been nice seeing his face again, and he had been happy to see her, but they were both a bit uncomfortable with surprises, and Mirella opted to make it short, so he could go out on the fishing trip he had planned for the day. She wished she could have joined, but alas it wasn't to be, and the reminder of her loss put her in a bad mood. In an effort to brighten a bit up, she went for a walk instead and stayed purposefully away from both sea and lake. That left her the streets to explore, or rather walk around in aimlessly. Before leaving she had changed the Karrablast out for Lily. The experience with Team Aqua had made her think of something. it was still a vague idea. She obviously needed to think through the details, but the way they had worked with undercover names, made her think she would need another 'persona' when doing things for them, and that entailed she would need to distinguish between which Pokemon to use when. So she had decided to bring only the Pokemon she thought she liked to use for herself. She could always figure out later, which of her team she would reserve for missions and the like. She thought she would like to test her theory when she was back in Petalburg and could try out the new uniform. Wordcount: 264

After joining Team Aqua and finishing their initiation test, Mirella was now back in Rustboro City to ponder about her participation in the team. For now, there won't be another mission yet, and she was wandering around the busy city in Hoenn. Rustboro City was known for their Devon Corps, a leader in energy and geology research, as well as technology. However, outside of the city's famous business, the city life in Rustboro was also bustling, albeit could be mundane if you summarized it to people moving about their lives. The city streets though, although a concrete jungle, allowed many nooks and crannies, and alleyways and some rare abandoned buildings that allowed Pokemon to live and wander off the streets. Occasionally, one could hear the sound of Pokemon calling each other or just running around in the streets, interacting with the locals in all sorts of ways, good and bad, neutral, and apathy. Today, Mirella herself met one of the locals in diner that have both outdoor and indoor seats. A fellow Taillow who was between slurping off noodles and sipping broth from a bowl of abandoned meal by a busy businessman, who only finished maybe 75% of the meal before he had to go to a meeting. The waitstaff was also busy doing something else that they haven't have a chance to clean it up yet. Well, good for the Taillow. As Mirella approached, the Taillow eyed at her and stopped a bit, hopping a bit to keep an eye, just in case she issued it to a fight. Otherwise, it resumed snacking on the noodle, albeit a bit slower with its guard up right now.

Day four: Sightseeing (Rustboro City) To Mirella the city was rather boring, having grown up in the place and lived there for the better part of her life. She had always preferred the sea- or lakeside of the city, but occasionally she had explored the streets following a group of children from her class. Funny enough, after all this time living in Petalburg she felt like a stranger in the streets, and though she recognized almost every corner from some event or another, she felt a bit out of touch with the stones. Not to get too caught up in nostalgia, she let out Aleksi to explore the area with a newcomer's curiosity. It lightened Mirella a bit to watch the Pooch sniff out any nook and cranny they passed, and she was happy to discover the Pooch stayed close by, never running out of sight, and always returning to her side with a delightful yapping. "You are such a good girl, Aleksi, sticking close by." She told the Pooch at one such occasion. As they passed by the old diner, Mirella didn't pay the Taillow much attention. It dropped into the background like the guests of the place and the working waiters. Aleksi on the other hand stopped short and sniffed the air. She could smell something delicious, and if that bird was allowed to eat the humans' food, she was too. With a warning Howl, she put herself up for a fight. The Taillow's bowl was the first, and therefor the only one, Aleksi saw free of humans, and she wanted to taste. After the initial warning, she jumped into action, ready to put her teeth to use, should the Taillow refuse her the pleasure. Mirella halted in surprise, when she heard Aleksi howl. She looked back to see her Poochyena in full gallop towards one of the outdoor tables at the diner, and with some worry she ran back to it. "Aleksi! What are you doing?"Wordcount: 324

At first the Poochyena was trying to get close to the Taillow's bowl. However, the young bird was annoyed by the trainer's Pokemon, and jabbed a few peck in her way. Aleksi was pushed back to the ground from her first failed attempt, as the avian rejected an uninvited guest for its lunch. Not refusing to give up, Aleksi howled loudly to embrace herself before making a leap forward toward the Taillow. Identifying this threat to its lunch, the Taillow growled calmly as its body glowed red, focusing its energy for something dire toward the Poochyena in its next strike. Little did it know, the Poochyena went back quite a bit, and then ran and jumped a few things like some flower pots and some other chairs before leaping toward the Taillow for a bite. The chomp knocked the bird out, and the noodle bowl was all hers, before the waiter would take it away. Did we mention that the waiter have helper Pokemon too?

Day four: Sightseeing (Rustboro City) Mirella groaned, when Aleksi completely ignored her and started jumping from flower pots to chairs to reach the Taillow on the table. She sped up herself in an attempt to get to the naughty Pooch before it could cause any real harm, but she was too late to stop it from biting the bird. Red faced with embarrassment and annoyance she watched Aleksi reap her harvest and lick happily at the leftovers in the bowl. She finally reached the Pooch, and grabbed her by the neck just as a waiter came for the bowl. "I'm so sorry about this." she apologized to the waiter, and then was forced to close a hand around Aleksi's mouth, as she saw fit to try and snap after the bowl again. "Stop it, girl! You are misbehaving now, and I won't have it! Be nice!" She reprimanded, walking away from the diner, Aleksi still held by the neck a hand keeping her mouth closed. Aleksi whined and growled unhappy. However, Mirella first put her down, when she had reached an ally, where she could have a serious talk with the Poochyena. There, she squatted down, and sat her on the ground without really letting go. She waited for Aleksi to calm down before speaking again. "Are you done?" she began. Aleksi looked up at her with something she reckoned was half defiance. "You can't attack someone out of the blue. Don't tell me I have to take the same measures with you as I have with Caddis..." Mirella paused to see how much Aleksi understood. The defiance was still there, so probably not much. "You were acting so well just before, and as long as you behave and do as I tell you, I see no problem in letting you play around and have fun, while we're out. But if you are going to be naughty and attack people and Pokemon without any warning... Then I just won't let you out in public." Aleksi stilled in her hands, and Mirella carefully let go. "Understand?" she asked, but Aleksi just looked sad now, and Mirella sighed. "I need to be able to trust you to be nice. No more attacking than absolutely necessary, and if there is anything you want, you alert me, before jumping in." She slid a hand under Aleksi's chin and scratched her a bit. "I'll give you one more chance today. We were having such a nice walk. Let's explore some alleys together. We can find dinner later."Wordcount: 417

The waiter didn't mind, as the food at least didn't went to waste, but he wasn't sure about a chomping Poochyena being that close to him. Thankfully, Mirella had grabbed the canine Pokemon out of his sight before more trouble would happened. In addition, he didn't have to call out his Furret to stop a Pokemon from making a mess too much. As Mirella was giving her Pokemon a talk in the alley, her Poochyena wasn't the only one listening though. Staring ominously at the duo behind a wall was a little Espurr. With eyes that seemed to be staring into their soul. Thankfully, this wasn't a ghost type Pokemon and don't draw its power from supernatural forces, but this Pokemon, in a dark alley staring a the human and her canine, would give anyone the chill down their spine. It softly whispered, "Espurr?"But was it a hello or something else?

Day four: Sightseeing (Rustboro City) Aleksi didn't react immediately to Mirella's offer, and she waited patiently for the Pooch' response. Aleksi was obviously enjoying her scratching her, but she still looked a bit down, if not discontent with the reprimand. "I still need you to agree here. Otherwise we are done walking for today." Mirella added kindly, when Aleksi still hadn't responded after a minute. Aleksi's ears went down momentarily, then up again as she huffed and gave a rough nod. Mirella could tell she was still displeased, but she had to learn it. "That's better. Thank you for taking the chance." her hand went from Aleksi's chin to an ear, where she scratched her a bit more. This lightened Aleksi's mood, and the Pooch closed her eyes a moment. Suddenly they shot open though and stared into the shadows by a wall. The hair on Aleksi's back stood on end, and Mirella followed the look till she saw the one hiding in there, looking at them with scary eyes. A shiver ran down her back. "What's that?" she asked no one in particular. It had to be a Pokemon, Mirella told herself. Aleksi rumbled in the throat and made a jerky movement, almost like she wanted to jump but was held back. She looked up at Mirella with a pleeding look. Mirella swallowed. Right, she had just said that Aleksi wasn't to attack things without asking first. "Fine, but nothing hurtful. We need to see what it is first. Try a Sand Attack." Secretly, Mirella hoped the sand would stop the staring of the eyes. Aleksi sprung into action at Mirella's words, kicking up sand and dust, and trying to lure the lurker out into the light for Mirella to see. She was very tempted to just rush forward and put her teeth in the meat, 'cause it smelled like prey. But Aleksi wasn't stupid. If she wanted to reign free on Mirella's watch, she had to at least pretend to follow orders. They had just established that. As soon as Mirella saw the Espurr in the light, she hesitated. It looked small, and certainly it would be weak against a strong Poochyena like Aleksi. "Wait, Aleksi. That's an Espurr. They are rare." she thought aloud, and then pondered what to do about it. She was still saving money for travelling, and even though she was taking the afternoon off today, when it came to Pokemon she had to grab the opportunities when they arrived. An Espurr might earn her a good bit of money, like she hoped for that Shelmet. "Hold back, Aleksi. You're too strong, so let Tse'ri take it from here." she decided and called out the Goomy. "Tackle the Espurr, Tse'ri."Wordcount: 450

Kicking up some sand and dust from the ground at the Espurr, and then dashing away, Aleksi lured the creepy Espurr toward the part of the alleyway with more lighting on it. The feature of the feline Pokemon was now clearer, but its blank stare look could definitely still send chills in broad daylight. The psychic Pokemon acted cute and purred, and when Aleksi's guard was down, tackled her and attempted to steal whatever thing the canine was carrying, which was nothing. After the trainer had switched out for the Goomy, the Espurr tried again to purr and then snatch something from the opponent. However, the Goomy's slick and blubbery body proved to be hiding nothing at all. Disappointed, the Espurr was knocked by Tsering's tackle in the few seconds that it had a disappointed face. However, the knock made it shriek and activated a barrier, boosting its physical defense.

Day four: Sightseeing (Rustboro City) Mirella really didn't like how the Espurr was looking at them. The eerie stare send chills down her back, so she was easily convinced she didn't want to keep it for herself, if she had luck with capturing it. Despite the scary look she wasn't deterred from her plan, and when Tse'ri had managed to tackle the Espurr, Mirella pulled out a couple of Pokeballs. It wasn't that long ago she had stocked up on them, so she wasn't too afraid of running out. "Very good, Tse'ri" she told the Goomy. "Now it's time to see if we can get it in a ball." Tse'ri wobbled up and down with her body, as if she understood, and Aleksi had sat down beside Mirella's feet and wagged her tail slowly. It was a strange contrast to before, and Mirella hoped she would keep up the good behaviour foreward. Mirella threw the first Pokeball, and held a second one ready in case the first one failed. Throwing the first Pokeball, the mysteriously staring Espur was captured in the sphere and warped inside. The ball dropped on the concrete as it wobbled to the left a little, and then the right a little. However, the psychic type Pokemon was quite weak already from the battle, and was successfully captured without breaking out of the ball. the canine and the blob dragon didn't gain much experience from this battle, as the Espurr was quite too easy of a fight.
